Tony Yayo Gets Angry Reflecting On The Game & G-Unit Feud: ‘What’s Up With Loyalty?’

Tony Yayo had a heated conversation about The Game‘s friction with G-Unit on the latest episode of Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast.

The South Jamaica, Queens native reflected on the Compton rapper’s tumultuous time in the group and admitted they squandered the opportunity to make even more money by breaking up. According to Yayo, G-Unit’s feud with The Game was inevitable, though, especially considering the animosity between the East Coast and West Coast.

“At the end of the day, we fucked up a lot of money because we could have went overseas,” he said. “Without 50, Game, Banks, Buck, Yayo. We could have went out and made millions overseas. But [he] started the G-Unot. When I was on that balcony in Battery Park and I heard 50 giving him all those records, I’m looking at him like, ‘You giving him all this shit bro?’”

“You gotta think about this. You got L.A. n-ggas blowing up an East Coast n-gga,” he continued, referencing Dr. Dre signing 50 Cent. “What you think n-ggas in the studio saying? We New York n-ggas. ‘You gotta blow up the West Coast. The West Coast the best coast, blood.’”

Yayo went on to blame jealousy behind the friction between G-Unit and The Game. According to the “So Seductive” rapper, 50 took care of everyone around him, but once the money started slowing down, that’s when problems arose.

“When shit goes sour and the money slow up, n-ggas start tripping,” he said. “Never bite the hand that feeds you. What’s up with loyalty, homie? You know the era n-ggas came up in, man. Loyalty is everything.”

Tony Yayo then tried to steer the conversation away from The Game, but Hoffa insisted on asking more questions to educate viewers on how a group should (or shouldn’t) navigate the music industry. However, Yayo grew irate and declared Game is not a part of G-Unit’s legacy.

“Y’all keep acting like Game is the real legacy of G-Unit,” he barked. “No, it’s Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and 50 Cent, n-gga. ‘Cause any New York issues that happened, I had to deal with when n-ggas pulled up. Understand?

“When I was on [Rikers Island], I had to deal with issues G-Unit had. I wasn’t in PC. No, n-ggas is real n-ggas. Game is on the West Coast, that’s his shit. We had to deal with Jimmy Henchman.”

The Game Says Jimmy Iovine & 50 Cent Paid Him $1M To Stop Saying ‘G-Unot’

The feud between G-Unit and The Game in the mid-2000s was a ticking time bomb that was ready to ignite at any moment. When 50 Cent began beefing with Fat Joe and Jadakiss for guesting on his rival Ja Rule’s 2004 hit “New York,” he expected his soldiers to stand beside him.

However, The Game felt that didn’t apply to him as he had no problems with Fat Joe or Jadakiss and declared he wasn’t going to war with them. 50 caught wind of Game’s comments and kicked him out of G-Unit during an interview on Hot 97.

The Documentary rapper attempted to address the situation with G-Unit minutes after the interview by entering the Hot 97 building, but a scuffle with security ensued that resulted in a member of Game’s team being shot in the leg. G-Unit reportedly was not involved in the skirmish and had already exited the building.

In March 2005, 50 and Game had an infamous press conference where they uncomfortably embraced each other and agreed to put their beef to rest. The truce didn’t last long, though, as the Unit continued to diss Game, leading him to launch his “G-Unot” campaign.

Almost two decades later, the beef continues to sizzle. 50 Cent and The Game recently threw shots at each other on Instagram after the Power mogul won an Emmy for the Dr. Dre Super Bowl Halftime Show, which The Game wasn’t invited to.

    1. Listening to that clip kinda made me realize something, Game messed with dudes that allegedly had something to do with the death of Tupac. Even though Game was from that coast and championed Tupac. It’s crazy. No loyalty.

      1. No you got it misunderstood first off yes jimmy henchmen robbed tupac and shot him they did not kill him. Keefe D and his nephew Orlando Anderson who were south side crips killed tupac on the las vegas strip!!

        1. Jimmy Henchmen also managed other popular acts not just the game, he managed Gucci Mane, Brandy, Akon and a few more. I think people on the west looked at game weird because they were like How you claim you love Pac so much but let Henchman manage you.

    2. This is a double-edged sword. I think The Game’s loyalty was with Dr. Dre. But, Dr. Dre rolled with the other dudes. So game said fuck loyalty and went at them all. Now, The Game is looked at as been disloyal. I think The Game should’ve come in with other West Coast brothers, like Quik, Snoop, etc…he could’ve possibly still been cool with both sides. Because Game loves east coast, he admires their music…but he sticks to his West Coast roots.

    3. GAME WASN’T LOYAL TO 50 (WHEN HE WAS G-UNIT), HE SHITTED ON DRE BC DRE FELT HE DOESN’T HAVE A SONG FOR THE SUPERBOWL STAGE, AND HE ISN’T LOYAL TO THE WEST COAST FOR RIDING WITH PAC’S SHOOTERS. TRANSFORMIN ASS DUDE WAS PROB A CRIP IN HIGH SCHOOL.

    4. lol Tony mad that Game didnt bend over for 50 like the rest of G-Unit. Why would Game beef with 99% of the East Coast just because 50 wanted to

    5. Lol, who cares Yayo, you had the least talent out of any of them and were basically just a guy in the group. And for all the hate on the Game, it’s ironic that he went on to have the substantially better music career after G-Unit out of all of them, even if he didn’t blow the doors off. At least he didn’t instantly crater and forget how to make a decent song after his debut album like 50.

        1. Well GRoDT had a ton of success, but then we got the terrible album that was the Massacre. Then it got worse, like unbelievably bad. Does 50 even bother putting raps out anymore?

          1. Noooo what memorable decent song did Game prove he could write songs without 50? After Dr Advocate I don’t recall one

      1. The doctors advocate was the only good album after the documentary. The rest of the games albums are trash. And if you say other wise your just a di*k rider. The whole super bowl halftime show proved how the games just a jealous weirdo. Gots a tattoo of pac but rolled with jimmy henchman. Without 50 and g unit no one would of ever heard of the game. Didn’t Jim jones just share on a podcast how game had everything planned out how he was gonna flip on g unit before he even blew? Dudes a weirdo who fell out with his own brother even.

        1. The Game has 2 engrained classic albums to 50’s one album and the rest of Game’s albums were decently respectable albums that have reviewed middle of the pack unlike 50’s, so I think you’re letting your personal bias get in the way. They are neither amazing nor awful while 50’s albums have been widely considered hot garbage. And couldn’t you say the rest in a different way about 50 and his ridiculous asshole behavior? Seems like they’re both wierdos with ego problems. Plus my point still stands, ain’t nobody wanna hear Yayo rap, that much is for sure.

          1. 2 classic albums?? The Doctors Advocate Is Far From a classic. GRODT&The Massacre are 2 classic albums with Top Tier Producing. Even the way the two albums are structured is astonishing.

      2. u a goofy… All games albums better than Drake albums… it’s just politics… learn the game before you cock ride..
