On October 15, TLC will deliver its fifth studio album and its first since 2002’s 3D, the last project that featured the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who passed away earlier that year. Today (July 25), Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chill” Thomas arrived in New York City with news that TLC is back.
The two have already recorded with a few heavy-hitters for its forthcoming album, including Ne-Yo on a track called “Meant To Be,” and Lady Gaga and Dallas Austin on “Posh Life.” Drake has already expressed interest in working with the group, and the two were adamant about working with J. Cole again, citing the chemistry they had while recording Cole’s “Crooked Smile” off this year’s Born Sinner.
“There is a whole other generation that doesn’t know who we are,” Chilli says. “I think that what we have as far as the people that we work with…We know when music sounds trendy. We don’t want to go in the studio and make music that sounds like five other artists that they worked with. We demand something new.”
TLC released its first album, Ooooooohh… On the TLC Tip, in 1992. The collection featured the hits “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” “What About Your Friends” and “Baby-Baby-Baby.” The trio became superstars with the release of its second album, 1994’s CrazySexyCool, which included the singles “Creep,” “Waterfalls” and “Red Light Special.”
When asked about their decade-plus absence, T-Boz says, “Even if we were out and it hadn’t been 10 years, you still have to reintroduce yourself and up your game.”
In addition to the album, TLC’s VH1 biopic CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story will premiere on October 21. The film features Drew Sidora, Lil Mama and Keke Palmer portraying the roles of T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli, respectively. Lil Mama walked on stage during the press conference today to announce that she will be performing with TLC this Saturday in Hershey, Pennsylvania at the Mixtape Festival. She is not a new member, though, despite nailing the role of Left Eye in the film.

thats like when lil waynes fans diss jay-z not knowing that lil gremlin got jay-z lyrics tatted all over his body
Jay-Z used to be alright. But after Black Album he has been pop garbage. Jay turned gay when he hooked up with Kanye. Wayne got straight Jay-Z lyrics on his body, so it’s alright. Now Jay-Z is gay and Wayne doesn’t fuck with that gay shit.
DO NOT FEED THE TROLL! DO NOT FEED THE TROLL! THATS DENTALDAMBOY GETTING U IDIOTS! U LAMES ARE MORONS. I DROP ALL THAT JA RULE SHIT N YA FALL FOR IT TOO. MAN YA STUPID
sorry but i gotta feed him
Wayne is the gayest nigga to ever pic up a mic. Kissing middle aged men on the lips? Where they do that at? I know that aint no blood shit. I also know skaters and they dont kiss each other on the lips either! Wayne is a fake blood, fake skater, fake rocker, REAL FAGGOT THOUGH
How did this post become about Wayne. Dude is garbage and shouldn’t be spoken of, why even give him the courtesy of speaking about him. Let him make gremlin music and let me not buy it. That’s how I like to do, you make all that fake music and I don’t buy it. =

I really liked TLC. Yet, its been nearly ten years since they’ve put music out as a group. One of their key group member has been deceased for nearly a decade not to mention the evolving music vibe since their hiatus! Since then both the pop and hip hop scene has changed, it would be a shame if their new music falls on deaf ears but there’s a strong chance it might…
whoever is the girl that plays chili in the biopic film looks too fat, chili is petite and skinny.
There’s no need for another TLC album. Without Lisa they’re just two old, generic, singers. And I mean no disrespect, because I’m a fan of TLC, but that’s the truth. TLC died with Left Eye, as far as I’m concerned. No half ass VH1 biopic is going to going to revive their group, so they should just go on tour and leave the albums alone. Nobody wants to hear no damn Drake or J Cole on their shit anyway. I’m not impressed.
