The Top 10 Most Popular Hip Hop Singles The Week Of 7/11/2011

Now eight weeks deep, HipHopDX is giving you you the 10 most popular singles on the site from the past week. After every week our staff will give you the ranked list since the past Monday, based on visits. These numbers are reflective from the time of posting.

Lil Wayne Takes Over The Charts

Lil Wayne is back in a major way. With Tha Carter IV coming fast, the Cash Money Records veteran emcee unloaded Sorry 4 The Wait, the mixtape with a bulk of new material. The HipHopDX readers ate it up like ziti. Wayne had a record-breaking five songs on the Top 10 this week, with one of those being in the form of a featured role for his Young Money artist Jae Millz.

    Wale’s Ramp-Up

Now signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, Wale is on fire again. The 2008 HipHopDX “Rookie of the Year” winner teamed up with then-runner-up B.o.B. and Big Sean for “First Class,” as well as another peer collaboration of sorts, with J. Cole.

    1. They should have highest rated songs too…because I guarantee that Weezy would be nowhere to be found on that list.

    2. There are easier ways to promote him.. You should just say u got his cock in your mouth for the next week. Ya’ll are falling off 4real.

    3. grove st. party was the weakest song on the mixtape. lil b is a fuckin wack ass rapper.his verse was the worst ive ever heard in hiphop.

      1. hear* my son…i read that sentence 5 times before i understood it lol…

and yeah that freestyle was garbo

    4. I got the number one record in the country. Barry Gordy got nothin on me. I am rockin shows. Shhout out to weezy for being on my album we da best forever.

I on one. See you at the top.

Haters keep hating and I am going to continue to make hits and so is wayne

      1. im not a hater im a doubter and i doubt tha carter 4 will break 475,000 its first week niguhz music is straight garbage niguh dont say shit in his music and niguh sounds more like lil chuckee or lil twist than himself….smdh FUCK YMCM!!

    5. ive been listenin sorry for the wait track bout 50 times all night thats the reason for that mixtape, i duck that bull shit bob n weave, everybody trippin but im never tripppin

    6. I listen to a bit of Wayne even tho I dislike him because I value having a good music opinion. You can’t say someone is wack if you’ve never heard them. Honestly, that mixtape… Wasn’t all that. Notice it only got 4 stars. Not saying there should be an argument, but Lupe could drop “Friend Of The People” and get 5 stars. What that mean?

    7. wayne killed that mixtape. way better than no ceilings. jus light a blunt and appreciate each track. sounds like the wayne from 05-07, similar to da drought mixtapes. and im no wayne dickrider, he’s been shit for a while not gonna lie. but this was sick. his flow on grove street party was too sick. and he had one of the best verses in a while on sorry 4 the wait and racks. he deserves some props for this

    8. I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83
being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive
retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it
only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff,
