ScHoolboy Q Addresses Kendrick Lamar’s Popularity
Remember that one magazine cover that said “Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy?” Despite its inaccuracies, Kendrick Lamar is the most prolific TDE rapper as he has appeared on songs with Taylor Swift, has his own Reebook collection and was enlisted by the NBA to honor Kobe Bryant for the Black Mamba’s retirement. ScHoolboy Q discusses people dick-riding his fellow Black Hippy rapper and discusses some elements of his Blank Face LP in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid.
Rich Chigga Goes Viral
If you haven’t heard about teenage Indian sensation Rich Chigga, now you have. The 16-year-old went viral with his drill raps and everyone including Ghostface Killah, Cam’ron, Desiigner and Tory Lanez responded to the kid. Slim Jesus who? Rich Chigga’s “Dat $tick” has 5.5 million views on YouTube.
Ab-Soul Disses Troy Ave & Jay Electronica
Ab-Soul had some words for Troy Ave and Jay Electronica in a freestyle at the STEEZ Day Festival in Los Angeles. 2016 has not been Troy Ave’s year as he was arrested for attempted murder after a shooting at New York’s Irving Plaza. His friend, Banga, was killed and three people, including Troy Ave were wounded. Jay Electronica has been his usual mysterious self this year. He appeared on Chance The Rapper’s Coloring Book mixtape but also dissed Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.
