Teyana Taylor Halts Plans For “Completed” Version Of “K.T.S.E.”

Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E. album will remain in its current state. After announcing her intentions to release a “completed” version of the project due to its missing content, the G.O.O.D. Music singer has revealed there won’t be an update after all.

“I guess we ain’t getting one,” she wrote with a shrugging emoji, responding to a Twitter user asking why the new version hadn’t dropped as promised.

Taylor went on to explain that sample clearance issues were still causing a delay, forcing her to change course.

“A lot of clearance issues, shit takes time,” she explained. “At this point I will leave album the way it is & will just debut the extended records thru my visuals!”

Taylor previously declared she’d be shooting videos for every single song from the K.T.S.E. album. It appears fans must wait for those visuals to hear the completed versions of the tracks.

The recent series of Kanye West-produced albums were marred by chaotic releases. Disorganized listening parties and last minute mixing for the projects became a regular occurrence, culminating in a particularly confusing rollout for Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E.

In a new interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Taylor confirmed the album was incomplete, which led to the haphazard nature of its release. The G.O.O.D. Music singer said the completed version of the project will be released in the near future.

“It’s just different levels of R&B on this album and then once y’all hear the album, like next week, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about because it’s way more completed,” she said about 10 minutes into the conversation. “It’s just crazy.”

Big Boy asked Taylor why the release date wasn’t pushed back a week if it wasn’t ready. She characterized the whole situation as a misunderstanding.

“Honestly, I think it was just more of a misunderstanding because Kanye know how much I been through,” she said. “The whole squad know how much I been through. So, I think it was more so of them making an executive decision of like damn, she been waiting for this moment. Let’s do whatever in this moment to make her happy, not realizing that I probably would have waited that [extra] week.”

Taylor also revealed she wasn’t really kept in the loop on her album’s status. When it dropped, she was surprised by all of the missing content.

“Like when the album dropped, I didn’t even know that much stuff wasn’t cleared,” Taylor said. “So when the album dropped and my friends woke me up like, ‘Yo, the album is out,’ I was excited. But, I was also like, ‘Wait, does that mean they were able to get everything cleared?’ It was really just an honest misunderstanding of me thinking maybe oh, some shit happened overnight.”

Following the interview, a fan tweeted, “so basically teyana taylor’s real album isn’t out.” Taylor responded to the comment in a retweet.

“Pretty much lol,” the singer wrote.

Taylor hasn’t announced a release date for the completed version of K.T.S.E.

      1. Damn if Kanye farts and it’s not the right stink y’all were expecting, you find a way to complain. The man dropped 5 albums in 5 weeks, enjoy the music or listen to whatever you listen too.

        1. No it didn’t……Kanye was all over that album and you barely heard Kid Cudi on it……Kanye did more singing than Kid Cudi.

          1. Nah Cudi was the star of that album and it’s not even close. Kanye just provided him the balance that he needs. KSG is the best Cudi project in years. Stop hating.

    1. I respect Iman, but his wife has serious talent. Iman throwing up bricks and giving up buckets even though he’s supposed to be a defensive player. Sad because while he’s made a good amount of money, Teyana is shorted because of the economic ruins that is the music industry, especially R&B. In fact, I just saw him do an interview, talking about everything except his bubbling basketball career. Who does he play for again? I’m going to check for the finished version of her album. I’m sure it’ll be better than that half assed Nas album, which I’m still vexed about after a six year wait, because Life Is Good was fire

    2. G.O.O.D MUSIC = B.A.D MOVES

Kanye is trash. He really played tf out of all his artists that released their EP albums in June. People need to be straight up with him and let him know that he is overrated, unprofessional and mentally unstable. He does not know what he is doing when it comes to being a CEO of a record company, delivering and producing quality music on time.

      1. Yall forgetting Pusha T is the president of Good Music. This is what happens when an artist is also overseeing Label business. They slack on the business side.Like a Coach who also wants to be a GM.Kanye only cares about the buzz. His talent was always bringing out the creativity in other artists but you can’t do that when your head is in a fucked up place..jus sayin’…

    3. Kanye has f’ed her career up. That’s why you don’t see anybody signing with Goodmusic anymore

      1. disagree, people are signing to good music + I do not understand how Kanye gets the blame….she has the biggest platform because she is on Good Music and he produced her entire album… her opened her up to a larger market because of that….Kanye didn’t ruin her career and she could use her moment to build on it instead of putting down her album and her label honestly ….looking at it objectively…it is getting good reviews and good reception, she is the main one poo-poo it right now

        1. I disagree with your disagreement. They’re getting some signees, but not major up and comers like they should be. GOOD is similiar to OVO in that a lot of the artists never get to drop. Teyana is talented so is CyHi and they’ve both been signed for years and they both only just recently got album releases. In the same time span Ye has released 3 albums and so has Push, hell even Desiigner’s garbage ass got an album Teyana should have had at least 3 albums by now and CyHi even more.

          1. Well 070 Shake is a buzzing aritsit…from Chicago and Valee is pretty popular…so not sure what up and comers you mean by…southern artist aren’t really going to fit there brand and 070 Shake has been featured all over these projects as well as Valee with the single All Mine off of Ye’s project…ps she is major player for unsigned artist.
I am not sure how Good is like OVO when Big Sean drops and is a multi-platinum artist, Pusha T has dropped, Common was on Good- successful artist on Good, Kid Cudi was on good as well…the only artist that is on Good that took a long time for her project to drop was Taylor…Cyhi spoke on his situation where he was signed to Akon and wasn’t able to legally put out a album to a few years ago w/o being obligated to Akons label….so with Taylor she is great and she should do more but she is more than just a artist as well…..but GOOD music is nothing like OVO…Kid Cudi/Common/Pusha T/Big Sean/Desiigner (even has at least made the charts) vs OVO not the same

          2. In case you haven’t been paying attention, this is Teyana’s second album on GOOD so fact check before you type.

    4. Kanye gave her her highest charting album and highest 1st week sales ever. So he did his job to help elevate her and Pusha and the #s don’t lie. YeezySeason

    5. I think her album is great…wish she didn’t put down her project and keep her frustrations in house….I loved the project! I respectably don’t understand how the idea she was going to re-release her project on Drake’s release was going to be a reality? I knew it wasn’t going to happen, and its hard for me to believe that she thought it was going to happen….more seems like she just wants to have it known she is upset
