Tekashi 6ix9ine Will Testify In Kidnapping Case Following Jury Selection

Despite numerous reports suggesting Tekashi 6ix9ine will testify in court next week, HipHopDX has learned that’s not entirely accurate. According to a statement from 6ix9ine’s attorney Dawn Florio, it will be at least a couple of weeks before that happens.

“The jury selection starts on September 16,” Florio explained to DX. “Any witnesses will testify after jury selection is complete.”

6ix9ine is expected to testify against Nine Trey Gangsta Blood affiliates “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack. Prosecutors believe Ellison kidnapped and robbed the polarizing rapper last July.

Both men were indicted for participating in a racketeering conspiracy for their criminal involvement in the gang using and carrying firearms, which were brandished and discharged, in connection with the racketeering conspiracy.

Mack was also indicted for conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl and MDMA and using and carrying a firearm in connection with the narcotics conspiracy. Ellison was indicted for using or carrying a firearm during and in relation to, or possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, which was brandished — believed to be related to the 6ix9ine kidnapping — and two counts of violent crime in aid of racketeering.

Ellison’s attorney Devereaux Cannic says the abduction of 6ix9ine — who’s referred to as CW-2 (cooperating witness two) in court documents — was faked. 

“No robbery or kidnapping or assault happened,” Cannick said in a Manhattan courthouse last month. “He was about to drop another album … gotta get that buzz up. That’s how he makes money.”

In an Instagram video posted last week, New York City lawyer Moe Gangat says the government is expected to suggest NO TIME for 6ix9ine during his sentencing hearing in January 2020.
