Teen Concertgoer YG Called Out For Not Yelling ‘Fuck Trump’ Addresses Incident

The 17-year-old concertgoer who YG booted off stage during San Antonio’s Mala Luna Music Festival for not yelling “Fuck Trump” is speaking out. Austin Joyner addressed the October 2019 incident via Twitter on Friday night (January 10) and included a letter he wrote directly to the Compton-bred rapper.

In his post, he accused YG of putting a “target” on his back while praising the security guards who helped him. He also explained why he didn’t want to participate in the chant.

“I didn’t want to present myself in that way,” he wrote in part. “At no time did I mention anything regarding politics at the festival. As Americans, we have Freedom of Speech, and while I may not agree with YG’s hatred towards President Trump, as a citizen, he’s allowed to say what he wants.

“However, he crossed a line when he singled me out for not singing along and tried to humiliate me and get the entire crowd to turn against me in a threatening manner.” [apple_news_ad type=”any”]

Joyner, who adheres to strict religious values, also praised the security guards who came to his aid while condemning YG for his actions.

“You put a target on my back that night and made it unsafe for me at the festival,” Joyner continued. “Thankfully, two security guards came up to me after you kicked me off stage. They advised me to leave because they determined it was too risky for me to stay there at that point.”

Joyner then revealed why he waited so long to talk about what happened.

“It has taken me a few months for me to fully forgive you, but I did not want to respond to the incident until I did forgive,” he said. “I forgave you on January 4, 2020. I really don’t want to hold on to those type of feelings.”

Ultimately, Joyner attempted to take the high road and wished nothing for the best for YG.

“I believe that you could even make the type of transition Kanye West has made,” he said. “In the end, I want you to succeed, and I want you to become the man God designed you to be.”

The concert in question took place on October 26, 2019. YG apparently noticed Joyner’s refusal to scream “Fuck Trump” along with the rest of the crowd and brought him onstage in attempt to convince him to do so. When he said no, YG kicked him out.

“Don’t come to a muthafuckin’ show with YG on the muthafuckin’ bill if you a Donald Trump supporter,” YG said shortly after having removed. “Fuck are you doing? Don’t let his ass back in the crowd. Tell him YG said so. Donald Trump’s racist. He don’t fuck with black people, so if you fuck with Donald Trump, you racist as fuck and I can’t fuck with you. Period.”

    1. What YG did was pure stupidity. Why single the kid out like that? Those who cannot accept people for having different political perspectives are complete jackasses. Besides, this kid didn’t say anything about politics. He just chose not to curse out the president on stage. Shit, YG doesn’t even have enough brain power to understand that many of us cannot do things like that in public, or we will lose a lot of our opportunities with college and work. It’s not fuck Trump, it’s FUCK YG. Quit destroying hiphop with jackasses like this!

    2. Imagine calling someone else a bigoted racist, when u yourself kick them out of a place because you disagree with their political affiliation, while calling out their skin color. Anyone else recall that Obama had nothing but kind words for Senator Robert Byrd, who was an admitted KKK leader and member? He was the oldest Senator in US history, and died a decade ago. When he died, liberals had nothing but nice things to say, as he himself was a Democrat. Yes, he was a literal Klansmen. And nobody in the liberal party had any issue with his racist lifestyle.

    3. The dude literally has a song called “fuck trump”…If you like trump why go to a yg show? He got what he deserved

      1. Because you can still like the rest of his catalogue. You act like he only has 1 Song. Do you really like every single Song of an Artist you fuck wit??

      1. I’m black. Why is it you only think white people have the intelligence and common sense to defend people from bullying? Having different political views, cultural ideology, religious background… It’s all perfectly fine. Those who want to hate on you for it are complete scumbags, as you likely are. If you think what YG did is okay, then you have no right to be mad if you ever feel discriminated against for being black.

        1. If you had any intelligence like you claim, you’d notice that most of the comments had racial undertones to them. That was why I said they were triggered. But please go ahead and praise Massa Mr. “I’m Black”. Your self-esteem needs serious work.

      2. Wow. Your superpower is determining the race of a person thru shit typed on the internet? Are you in Marvel’s phase 4?

      3. I’m black and I love Trump. See, I’m not one of those people who is ordered around and told how and what to think, as you sound like you are. Open up your mind. Get off the plantation.

    4. Trump does it all the time so why are you mad at a Rapper….ijs,,,,he kicked 30 students out at a event at the college they attended….Valdosta State, n since then he has done it several more times with violent intentions

    5. You can like YG and not hate Trump. You can like the song Fuck Trump and not hate Trump. We live in a world where everything is so binary except for gender, crazy

    6. love the fact people still think trump is a racist. democrats have blacks wrapped around there thumb. youll legit believe anything they tell you. democrats give blacks free shit for votes and in turn getting free shit makes them stay down and never prosper. if any black person says anything other than the rhetoric they are shunned by there on people. amazing how yall still havent figured this out.

    7. All the suburban white boys got triggered by this huh? Lol luv it. This kid is a clown, I’m glad YG called his punk ass out. No one cares about your statement 4 months later. Fcuk off

    8. of course you take down my comment cause you know its true. its alright though. avoid the truth and stay down.

    9. Did anyone catch the comment about his strict religious values but yet he’s at a YG concert? Not a Lecrae concert but a YG concert! Contradictions taking over for the ’19 and the 20s!

        1. Hey Retardo Monteban, the festival has artists performing secular music therefore I’d you have strict religious values, you wouldn’t be attending. Stooopid!

    10. Hey Retardo Monteban, the festival has artists performing secular music therefore I’d you have strict religious values, you wouldn’t be attending. Stooopid!

    11. who gives a shit… the teen is only 17. Regardless of who the kid supports politically and religiously, he isn’t even legal enough to vote yet lmao. The kid’s opinion on Trump is null and void until he turns 18.

    12. YG is pretty wack for this one. Hating a politician is all good, riling up the crowd in a show of your political standing is fine too, but singling out a minor and putting only him at risk for the rest of the festival is really reckless. YG thinks what he did was brave and right but all he did was alienate a child, a real big man’s move..

    13. no one has said anything about this recently why doesn’t he jus leave it alone it’s died down he’s made an even bigger target on his back by letting everyone know oh i’m that kid that yg kicked out the whole situation was dead and he’s saying help me get my message out bruh leave it alone it’s dead it’s in the past nobody talkin about it but u and if he want’s him to succeed why bring attention to a negative situation that could come back and bite him

    14. YG is probably a felon with no voting rights, and most of his fan base surely doesn’t vote. So, what’s the point of saying that about the President.
