Takeoff: Video Of Quavo In Heated Argument Prior To Fatal Shooting Surfaces

A video showing Quavo in a heated argument moments before Takeoff was fatally shot has surfaced.

In the clip obtained by TMZ, Quavo can be seen and heard arguing with someone outside the Houston bowling alley where his nephew and Migos groupmate was killed in the early hours of Tuesday (November 1).

Takeoff can be seen standing just a few feet away from the tense exchange, which seemingly centered around basketball. Quavo, who was reportedly playing dice at the time, can be heard saying: “Man, I don’t care about no basketball, bruh … Don’t play like that, bruh.”

Moments later, a physical altercation breaks out, followed by gunfire. Over 10 shots were fired, with TMZ speculating they came from more than one weapon.

At least one of the bullets struck Takeoff “either in the head or near to his head.” When police arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims were taken to nearby hospitals, while Quavo escaped the shooting unharmed.

Boxing star Shakur Stevenson was standing next to Takeoff at the time of the shooting, but he, too, avoided injury. Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, he wrote: “R.I.P Takeoff.”

Kevin “Coach K” Lee — co-founder of Quality Control Music, Migos’ label — issued a statement about Takeoff’s death on behalf of the label, describing their devastation as a result of “a stray bullet.”

“It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff,” the message read. “Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated. Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss.”

Fellow Quality Control founder Pierre “P” Thomas also reacted to the 28-year-old rapper’s sudden passing on Twitter, sharing a broken heart emoji.

Sgt. Michael Arrington of the Houston Police Department called for witnesses to step up during a press conference on Tuesday, with the police report claiming 40 people attended the private party at the bowling alley.

“We’re looking for anything to help us from there,” he said. “We want to find justice for [Takeoff’s] family. They’re going through a lot right now. And the only thing that we can do is hope that y’all reach out and assist us in any way to lead to evidence that will help us to apprehend and get charges and arrest on the person responsible for the death of Takeoff.”

Houston Police Chief Troy Finner added: “I just want to say something to our city, Houston, and every brother and sister in the neighborhoods. I’m calling you to action to step up. There were 40 people at least at this event, and people left, possibly out of fear.”

      1. Right? And all the people standing there AFTER! FOR WHAT??? I feel like if you wasn’t his family you should’ve left immediately!

    1. No need to waste police resource on another typical rap ni99a incident. Black people are not supportive of police any ways!! Start confiscating assets from BLM aka Burn Loot Murder to compensate for this!!

      1. You white pos got so much to say about the black community but how about worry about the pedophilia & white on white murders in your community! I mean I know there’s plenty of women & kids you should be out looking for buried because dad didn’t want them anymore… Cracka ass cracka

      2. Everyone’s life matters stupid. Black Rap Who??? You the one that doesn’t matter cause you ignorant human being. Who say things like that? That man didn’t ask for this and who said it was a black man that shit him? Know the facts before speaking of the dead in this manner. I didn’t know takeoff personally but it broke my heart that he died at an early age. He wasn’t even done enjoying his life. Don’t ever talk down on him again or our black community. White people kill to especially their own family members for insurance money but you didn’t speak on that, so bounce cause at the end of the day your opinion doesn’t matter.

      3. When it happens to you or your family we will make sure we give the same energy you did. Never judge cause you ain’t the judge. A person race has nothing to do with how people choose to live their life. Y’all some stupid dummies.

      4. I just don’t know how you fight racism with racism..first thing you jumped to was a racist comment…that’s the problem with the world right now..they say two wrongs don’t make a right😂

      5. White on white murder lol. That is so rare in USA, unless they’re the gangsta types that listen to the music of the guy just killed.

      6. Actually it’s very true.. Facts don’t lie but you people are so focused on the black community because you don’t want to acknowledge the animalistic behavior you demons spread around the world! Not only are their More murderers in your community but rapes, child exploitation, drug use, pedophilia, women & child abuse as well… Anywho don’t you have a few bodies to go throw in a well? Lmao

    2. Didn’t sound like too heated of an argument, just an excuse for more shooting. Bunch of punks to scared to get lumped up w some knuckles.

    3. Whoever the female is that said hell nawl she seen the person with the gun but just scared to speak on it and do the place have cameras come on now police officers y’all can request to check them Smfh

    4. Whoever the female is that said hell nawl she seen the person with the gun but just scared to speak on it and do the place have cameras come on now police officers y’all can request to check them Smfh start talking money then someone might say something which is sad

    5. It seems like Quavo got into an argument with someone and that someone pulled a gun to shoot him but the bullet stuck into Takeoff’s head. Maybe Quavo should look himself in the mirror and raise some serious question. He’s like the lil bitch in a group always instigating shit but letting other people handling the drama. Fuck him!

      1. Assuming because it being 2:30am everyone was drunk / drinking, thus not making smart decisions. The argument didn’t sound all that serious. Not sure I’d blame Quavo but more so the guy that actually started shooting over an argument about basketball, or whatever dumb shit they were arguing about.

    7. You don’t need to be a fan of someone to show compassion. Just have a real human heart that love and cares.

    8. There ain’t no way anyone is gonna let the cops get who ever did it. I heard the whole town is just a mess right now. I dont blame them, I wasn’t even a fan really but this shit is just to much. But the looks of the video quavo said something like common let’s go, they ain’t gonna do nothing. Basically walking away from the situation and that’s when all hell broke out. All these young people need to go back and watch friday. Listen to what pops had to say and leave the guns at home. Learn to fight with your fist and not be a punk and pull out a gun.

    9. This is sad man, When will we see enough value in each other to not be so quick to jump to guns? Take your lick and keep it moving.. you can see Takeoff in the final seconds just standing there observing right before the camera panned off of him in the white shirt and black jeans. He was the coolest laid back cat out the group.. remember these last few word “Pay attention to the last 3 months of every year. A major rapper gets killed” I’ve noticed a pattern in the oast 3-5 years almost.. This is why I cover these topics on YouTube cause at the same time takeoff losing his life over something senseless, somebody son, father, daughter in another city getting killed over some BS.. We have to target on how these guns are so easily accessible in our community. We have to change the narrative of what cool is, in our community and in hip-hop. Shooting guns, having Ops, catching bodies not cool..Losing a piece of your soul for murder is not cool..I truly pray that anyone reading this stays safe, blessed out the way and lives life to the fullest.. dying young is not whats up.. please brothers and sisters if you have a chance stay away from the streets and ignorance. Pay attention to your inner God speaking to you and move accordingly 💯

      1. Thank you for saying that! I noticed the same thing. Takeoff kept looking over at the camera! I hope they find out who did it soon! Peace be with you! RIP Takeoff! 🙏🏼

      2. America glorifies gun culture. No other country in the civilized world has this problem. The best thing to do is to avoid being around them even though how things are going these days, you can randomly get shot by some mentally ill fool with a gun.

    10. Gun control laws is a hot topic. Just want to say as long as guns are very easily accessible these things will continue to happen unfortunately.

    13. A punch was thrown and they got into a physical altercation. There was no reason to pull out a gun then randomly open fire. Sucker shit. Fight it out. No need for a gun to come out.

    14. Simple solution… one the nonsense subject matter within rap is no longer supported, the nonsense will cease to exist.

      It’s Up To You

    15. I thought Takeoff was supposed to mean “the first to take off” when shit like this happen?

    16. You have to have common sense. If you are a world famous entertainer and multi-millionaire, what business do you have shooting dice on the ground in public? It’s like inviting disaster. If you want to gamble, go to the MGM for christ’s sake. Money might not mean shit to you, but to someone who’s got nothing and they lose their last reup dollar to you, what are they gonna do? Something like this.

    17. So you go from a possible disagreement to pulling out a gun!! I’m embarrassed by how soft some of us are. Just emotionally and mentally weak. Too many silly arguments in my community ends up in a gun death. How about just walking away? But when it comes to witnesses everybody is deaf dumb and blind.

    18. How very unfortunate that some cowards have easy access to guns. How tragic when the innocent lose their lives.
