SZA Gushes Over Her 'Favorite Artist' In The Game Right Now

SZA is loving everything that her TDE labelmate Doechii is doing right now, and has labeled the Florida rapper as her favorite artist in the game.

In a post to X on Thursday (January 2), SZA waxed poetic about her friend.

“Yea doechii is my favorite artist rn hands down . Fuck the genre,” she wrote.

The love was immediately returned, with Doechii replying, “Scissoorrrrrr [heart and alligator emojis] love you sis !”

SZA’s post was likely prompted by the release of Doechii’s new music video for “Denial Is A River,” which was released that same day.

Leading up to the video’s release, the TDE rapper dropped a handful of hilarious 90s sitcom-style teaser clips from what she dubbed the Denial Is A River Show. It led to speculation she may be dropping a whole series of sorts, but it turns out they were cleverly-crafted promos filmed while making the music video with a star-studded list of guest appearances that includes Zack Fox, Earl Sweatshirt, Teezo Touchdown, DJ Miss Milan, ScHoolboy Q, SiR, Baby Tate, Rickey Thompson and H Wood.

The final product is a cinematic delight that finds Doechii and her guests causing chaos in the picturesque home as she raps about her meteoric rise to fame – then closes things out with a bang quite literally as the soundstage-built set explodes.

SZA has previously shared her love of all things Doechii in the past as well.

Ahead of the latter’s song with JT, “Alter Ego,” being released last year, SZA was singing the track’s praises on social media.

Under Doechii’s post announcing the new song over the weekend, SZA commented: “THIS IS MY FUCKING SHITTT IM BOUT TO RIP MY FUCKING PUBES OUT !!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

The SOS singer also took to her Instagram Stories to shared a video JT posted to stir up excitement for the song. Above the reshare, the New Jersey singer wrote: “3/29 she bout to drop the craziest song I’ve heard all year .. fuck. God bless everybody [laughing emoji].”
