Doechii has unleashed the full cinematic delight that is her music video for “Denial Is A River” – following a bit of a cryptic rollout that had fans wondering what it would be.

Leading up to the video’s release on Thursday (January 2), the TDE rapper dropped a handful of hilarious 90s sitcom-style teaser clips from what she dubbed the Denial Is A River Show. It led to speculation she may be dropping a whole series of sorts, but it turns out they were cleverly-crafted promos filmed while making the music video for the Alligator Bites Never Heal song with a star-studded list of guest appearances that includes Zack Fox, Earl Sweatshirt, Teezo Touchdown, DJ Miss Milan, ScHoolboy Q, SiR, Baby Tate, Rickey Thompson and H Wood.

In the final product, Doechii and her guests have a chaotic house party of sorts as she raps about her rise to fame the last few years – then closes things out with a bang quite literally as the soundstage-built set explodes.

The Florida native recently shed light on the project in an interview with Variety, revealing that it will have plenty of live instrumentation.

“All I can think about is this album, so I’m just looking forward to making more hits, making more music and achieving more of my goals,” she said. “That’s it.”

Doechii has also continued to earn plaudits from her Hip Hop predecessors of late, with Killer Mike being the latest to heap high praise on her.

During a conversation at Los Angeles’ Grammy Museum, the Atlanta rap legend told her: “You truly are an artist. You’re not a rapper aspiring to be; you’ve been an artist.
