Styles P Labels Biggie ‘The Greatest MC That Has Ever Existed’ Over JAY-Z & Others

The greatest rapper of all time debate is something that will always be a topic of discussion amongst Hip Hop purists. Styles P recently had an interview with the Bigface Gary Show where he gave one of his good friends the greatest MC of all time title and there’s no debate about it.

Biggie is the greatest MC that has ever existed,” Styles said in the clip. The Bigface Gary Show host said that the only reason Biggie would get that title is because of his untimely death but insisted he loved the late Brooklyn icon while also bringing up the love other legends like JAY-Z and others receive.

“No you don’t,” said Styles in response to the host announcing his love for Biggie. “You don’t love him enough to understand.”

He continued, “I’mma give you why. The evolution from each of those three’s first album to the second album, big wins on the evolution tip. I didn’t say either one of them albums got better, ’cause each one of those MC’s I respected their second album as much as the first, which make me fall in love with them as a fan, as an MC to go, solid, they did it again. I know it’s real. I know what’s going on.”

“But Big’s second album was global. Do you understand what I’m sayin’?” Styles asked. “Global. That was a different—he hit a different chamber and level to even have the audacity to say my second one is gonna be my second and third one.”

At the time of his passing, Biggie was on the verge of a major career breakthrough even bigger than the one he had when he first emerged onto the scene in 1993. His death left a massive hole in not only New York City, but Hip Hop in general that is still felt to this day and fans will always wonder what could’ve been had Biggie still been alive.

Biggie was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2020 by JAY-Z, Diddy and Nas.

Diddy, JAY-Z & Nas Induct The Notorious B.I.G. Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 23 Years After His Death

“Big just wanted to be biggest, he wanted to be the best, he wanted to have influence and impact people in a positive way, and that clearly has been done all over the world,” Diddy said during his speech. “Nobody has come close to the way Biggie sounds, to the way he raps, to the frequency that he hits. Tonight we are inducting the greatest rapper of all-time into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Notorious B.I.G. representing Brooklyn, New York, we up in here!”

    1. And he fully correct. Jay z didn’t evolve properly. He had moments in blueprint, the black album etc but his career should’ve been better as an MC. He got a little lazy in my opinion compared to the first two albums.

      1. “I dumbed down for audience, double my dollars. They criticize me for it, yet they all yell…”

    2. Nope ! How can you say someone is the best ever if you haven’t heard everyone rap. There are so many dope MC, just enjoy the music. I like biggie but greatest ever Im not feeling that, just say he’s your fav.

    3. GET-THE-FUCK-OUTTA-HERE ! How can a fat fuck be labeled “the greatest mc that has ever existed” with only two albums released in his lifetime under his belt??! Biggie was a good mc but his heavy breathin b/w every words and his fat boy voice never did it for me. If an mc should be granted with this title it would be nas or scarface. And I’m saying that even though my favorite rapper is dmx.

    4. If being fat was a precursor for being the best MC then Rick Ross would’ve been his heir apparent now, wouldn’t he?

      1. Dude you could be the most fitness muthafucka, but it don’t provide your longevity on earth. It don’t matter what fitness you are skinny, chubby, fat or muscular, one can die over the other at any time. I see a man who ate right and exercised everyday and younger, die before his unhealthy eating, 3 heart attack having, unexercising ass older brother did. Real talk no cap

    5. Illmatic was gritty Reasonable Doubt had that hustler’s swagger. Biggie had more crossover singles because he was signed to Puff. Also Nas didn’t hire Steve Stout until his second album and Roc-a-Fella was independent. Big was industry managed from jump while the other 2 had to figure it out. Much love to all though.

    6. biggie is the greatest hands down come on people the kid only had 2 albums
and best lyricists of all time best story teller rapper

      1. No, Piggie is the most overhyped MC of all time. Kool G Rap, and Slick Rick have been telling stories for years way before this fool. Kool G was the originator of the mafioso rhymes style that most these rappers adopted. Most Piggie’s rhymes are just rehashed freestyle he’s just restructured over the years. Actually pay attention and listen to his verses and you’ll hear it. I give Big Daddy Kane more credit than I would ever give Piggie especially for being nothing more than Fruity Puff’s puppet.

    7. For narrow-minded radio listeners Biggie can be the greatest. Or even Jay-Z, Nas, Pac or Eminem. But if you are insightful, you can discover much more better mcs. You just have to click elsewhere, not circling in the so-called top 10.

      1. Here’s a thought… how about you actually suggest a few instead of coming here with your elitist nonsense? I swear some people really think listening to independent artists makes them woke SMH…

        1. okay… You should listen to Kool Keith, Tim Dog, Longevity, MURS, Kurupt, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Hi Fidel, Wiki, Shrapknel, Mr. MFN eXquire, Antwon, Hard 2 Obtain, Pastor Troy, Smut Peddlers, Homeboy Sandman, Casual, Luni Coleone. Just to name a few.

    8. Big doesn’t come close to 2pac, Big is just a great rapper but Pac is a fucking hero like Malcolm X, Pac is on that level and Big doesn’t come close.

      1. Tupac was a hidden homosexual with a nose ring who never came out off the closet and balanced his insecurities with this so-called “thug lifestyle”. FOH!

          1. Your reply sounds like what a 16 yo kid living in his parents basement jerkin off to his yearbook and gettin wedgies by other kids in high school would say. Wait or maybe like what a female groupie while on her period would say.
