“Straight Outta Compton” Cast Not Invited To Oscars

The cast of Straight Outta Compton will not be in attendance at the Oscars February 28 because they were not invited, TMZ reports.

Ice Cube, who produced the movie and was portrayed alongside the other members of N.W.A, was also not invited. The site says that the invitations are generally sent to those who receive nominations. The only recognition the Oscars gave to Straight Outta Compton was a nomination for Original Screenplay, so the writers who were acknowledged were invited to attend the awards.

Ice Cube will reportedly attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards and NAACP Image Awards. The latter nominated the N.W.A biopic for outstanding motion picture, F. Gary Gray for best director and O’Shea Jackson, Jr. and Corey Hawkins, who portrayed Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, respectively, for supporting actor.

    1. Pff… Why would they invite them? That film is historically too incorrect to call it a biopic, and what even worse if I watch it as a naiv guy who knows nothing about rap it’s not enertaining. It’s boring, lame and full of lies.

      1. White people are delusional…. That movie was entertaining and it was not historically incorrect …It followed how everything happened during those times to a T….it did make all that money for nothing

      1. You tripping!….As me being a black man, I must say that’s the dumbest shit I ever heard!…..Wipe out an entire race over a damn Oscar nomination?……So I guess I should go kill my next door neighbor (who has absolutely nothing to do with the Oscar/nominating committee) because the actors aren’t getting the credit they deserve?…..White people as a race is not the problem….White people, as well as people from other races, who think exactly the way you do is the problem!

    2. i dont get why people are outraged…straight outta compton is a straight to dvd typa-movie and was mainly watched by blacks so as such, should only win an award on BET….

      1. I am a white person and that movie was great. I’ve seen it twice. Calling black people “blacks” shows you are nothing but an ignorant rube anyways. You probably think Fast and the Furious is high brow entertainment, and I doubt you have seen any of the movies nominated for best picture. Most of them are boring as hell.

    3. Good. Im glad they are keeping thugs from attending. Hide your purses and valuables.

They need to get their own awards and call it the Sambos

      1. Seriously?? STFU, you really don’t have to do your part to promote racism, we are well aware that it is alive and well. Hiding behind a computer just shows how much of a coward you really are.

    4. Loved the movie. I thought the acting was great – especially dude who played E. The story was compelling. I thought it deserved an Oscar nod but *sips tea*

    5. I personally don’t give a FUCK about the Oscars and could care less who’s nominated and invited. The Oscars and everyone involved can eat a big dick. Except for Eazy RIP (a real G), the short lived NWA studio gangster group can eat a big dick too!

    6. Ok. A lot of people not nominated attend these events so I’m calling Bullshit on that one..personally I don’t give a fuck about these niggas or if they was nominated or not..dude that played eazy was Good. I give him that but it’s not hard to play a gangsta rapper.. the movie str8 but not great..

      1. No need to be dropping N word b. I agree with all of what you say but I hate that word a black woman. To be real I used it alot but as I’m getting older (27) I hate it
