Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross have made appearances on a new single by Spice-1, who is gearing up to release a new album later this year.

On Tuesday (March 5), the Bay Area veteran dropped “Gangsta Shhh” with his comrades (and Q Bosilini) to hype up Platinum O.G.2, which is scheduled to drop on May 3. The record is a sequel to his 2019 comeback package, Platinum O.G.

In addition to those featured on the track above, the new LP boasts guest contributions from Conway The Machine, DJ Premier, Paul Wall, Treach, MC Eiht, Devin The Dude, Bushwick Bill, KXNG Crooked, CL Smooth, Lil Flip, Sway Calloway and more.

Ryan Elder, who executive produced the project, said: “I think Spice is the most underrated rapper of all time. His significance and importance in the culture should be recognized. I truly care about preserving his legacy and would never do a sequel if I felt we couldn’t top the first one; and we did that. No one likes a bad sequel.”

In other news, Spice-1 joined The Art of Dialogue for an interview last year and said he doesn’t believe JAY-Z, or anyone else, has a better LP than ’Pac’s fourth studio album.

“I mean damn, All Eyez on Me and Makaveli, like come on, man. Like, what can you compare to that shit,” he said. “It’s not too many whole albums you can compare to that ’cause only album I could compare to All Eyez on Me is like one of the first N.W.A. albums or something.

“’Cause I can listen to every song, and all of them slap. Every muthafuckin’ song slaps. It’s a difference when you got maybe six songs on the album, and they all bang but every fucking song, and then you got a double CD and every song on that muthafucka slapping. Every song, not one of them muthafuckas was just an okay song.”
