Scar Lip‘s burgeoning career continues to flourish, as she just inked a new deal with Epic Records — however, none of it would be possible without those early co-signs from big names like Cardi B and Snoop Dogg.

It was reported on Thursday (June 1) that Scar Lip had joined the historic label’s roster alongside heavy hitters like 21 Savage and DJ Khaled. Other artists on the label include BIA, DDG, Doe Boy, French Montana, Giveon, and more.

Pictures from Scar’s big day recently surfaced online. In the pics, Scar Lip is spotted presumably in what is Epic’s building with a screen behind her that reads “Epic Records Welcomes Scar Lip.”

In another photo, she’s surrounded by a few members of her team and some of her supporters, like Swizz Beatz, who also happens to be signed with Epic.

During her recent interview with VLAD TV, the rapper gave kudos to several artists who helped shine a spotlight on her talent, including Cardi B, Snoop, Boosie Badazz, and more.

When asked by the host about Cardi B — who reposted her on her Instagram Story earlier this month, leaving her in tears — the rapper said it made her feel like she “made it out [of] the hood.”

“I couldn’t believe that..that post changed my life,” she said. “I love her so much.”

Scar Lip even credited the Invasion of Privacy rapper as one of her biggest inspirations: “She started from the bottom and raised her way to the top, [and] anybody that feels a way about that…you’re just weird. Everybody starts from the bottom. How could you not be inspired?”

Snoop Dogg, another early supporter, even hopped on a remix of the rapper’s now-viral single, “This is New York,” effectively giving her his stamp of approval.

The rapper also noted that after Boosie Badazz reposted her, she felt like she really “had a shot” to make it in the business. “His push, [and] his co-sign, got me a lot of press…that shit helped my career a lot,” she said.

She also credited Shaquille O’Neal and Busta Rhymes for supporting her as well.
