Royce Da 5’9 & Joe Budden Show Disapproval For Joell Ortiz & KXNG Crooked New ‘Slaughterhouse’

Grammy Award-nominated Detroit rap artist Royce Da 5’9 just revealed his opinion of Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked’s upcoming project in an Instagram post.

On Friday (February 25), The Allegory lyricist posted a photo illustration of the cover art for The Rise And Fall Of Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked’s new collaborative album and a follow-up to 2020’s H.A.R.D. EP.

Nickle Nine also shared an anecdotal, hypothetical story about Slaughterhouse — the four-man Hip Hop group he was once a part of along with Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked.

“You have 25% ownership/equity in a building,” Royce Da 5’9 wrote on Instagram. “Let’s say an apartment building… You built this building with your 3 partners, brick by brick.. It’s worth millions.. Suddenly, the value drops because it needs renovations etc .. You and your partners have been talking about when and how this work is gonna get done.. Y’all just need to agree on plan of attack.”

As he continued on in the length caption, Royce Da 5’9 introduced a conflict of interest that would essentially test his loyalty in exchange for essentially thirty pieces of silver.

“Meanwhile: You and just one of the other partners receive an offer 2 build another building together but with just the 2 of you,” he said. “Minus your other 2 partners… Yes… There’s a check involved.. BUT… Just One Catch: You have to burn down the building you already have without informing your other 2 partners in order to do so.”

Royce Da 5’9 ended by posing a rhetorical question to his followers, which naturally, he answered on his own.

“Would you do it?” he wrote. “Didn’t think so… Me either.”

Ex-Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden quickly jumped in the comments of the post, stamping his approval of Royce Da 5’9’s shot at Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked by writing “SMH.”

Joell Ortiz and KXNG Crooked’s The Rise And Fall Of Slaughterhouse album is scheduled to drop on March 11 and features 13-tracks. Though Ortiz and Crooked collaborated together in 2020, their new release marks the first time any members of Slaughterhouse have joined forces for a project bearing the group’s namesake since their 2012 welcome to: OUR HOUSE album.

Following the dismantling of Slaughterhouse in 2018, Royce Da 5’9″ and Joell Ortiz remained close and spoke to HipHopDX in 2020 about the early beginnings of the group and how everything was about being “Lyrical” at first.

    1. id love to se them them get their shit together and drop some more as a whole. i dont know all the details, but why would the two them making some music together last year prevent them from all getting on some shit now.

      1. He obscured the details by saying, “the guys needed to work out some things before building another building”. But Ortiz and crooked must’ve not agreed with that and moved on.

    2. I thought they were all on the same page when they collaborated on Eminem album with the song “I Will” minus Budden.

    3. Joe, you are “retired” so fuck off. You can’t have anything jointly with anybody without it going sideways and it’s always the other party’s fault according to you. Royce, if Em is your guy you should’ve been able to get a bird’s eye view of the situation ahead of everybody else. As great as each member is lyrically, the albums were mediocre at best. Stop acting like you were the Beatles. Crook and Ortiz were the hardest ones in the group anyways.

      1. lol nahh the weakest member by far is Joe. he hasn’t even rapped in over half a decade, he couldn’t touch joell in 2022

      2. Boy, you buggin buggin. Aint no weak links in this group. Joel will eat your favorite rapper with a throwaway rhyme. Stop it, fam.

    4. When the first got signed to shady they really said give them the machine behind them and they could do what young money was doin. Lol. Interscope came in and they flopped hard. Interscope came In with Yelawolf. He flopped hard. But independently they were on ?. Fuck major labels.

        1. Idiots just rewrite history the way they want it to be. Don’t matter if it makes sense. Welcome to Our House was the number ONE rap album of the year. But ya know, “it flipped hard” hahaha TF outta here dummy!

    5. Slaughterhouse is one of my favourite groups of all time. I loved Welcome to Our House, and think it should have just been sequenced and presented differently. Would love to see them come back together and release an album, but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. Judging from their interviews, it looked like Crooked and Joell were trying to make that happen. I understand their frustration, and wanting to get stuff off their chest, but I don’t know if this was the best way to go about it.

    6. Royce one of my fav rappers… but stfu… let them eat…. What would you do with slaughterhouse… „nothing“
      So ??
      Don’t be hurt
Let them do their thing or jump on that project…. Cry baby

    7. Eminem still butthurt.. he’s too dickless to say anything negative about black people so he makes his slaves like Royce and Kon Artis do it for him

      1. Tha fuck does ANY OF THIS have to do with Marshall?????? You lookin real dumb out here. Just felt like trashing Em? This between Nickle Budden KXNG Crook & Joell Ortiz. Period. 2 feel like rappin about it, 2 feel like cryin about it on social media.
This comin from the biggest #SlaughterHouse fan too. But damn, it’s been TEN YEARS. Tha pig is cooked. ???

    8. If Eminem disses you and D12 join in. Then you go underground and form a dope emcee team just to come back to Eminem but now Em dont like D12. Yall release some super emcee album under Eminem but they fail to chart. You pledge to never let Em go ever again while he gets rid of the rest of your team. Now it’s just you and Eminem and you want to try to control how the other team members who Em got rid of make money. What’s that spell? Your a diva, you and Eminem go together.

    9. Royce looking really funny lately. For someone who was crowned the Best Rapper at a time he seem to let his social media do all the talking. Never replied to Micky and Lupe and I have my doubts that he would response to these too. But also what Royce mad at? He gone on record saying that he won’t do another SH without Joe and Joe constantly told people that he is retired.

    10. With that comment in mind, if 2 people want to continue with a new building and 2 want to shut down the process, the 2 should be just fine building their own, I don’t get the hate here

    11. Royce da 5’9 and Joe Budden are always the bitches in the group, their egos and sensitive emotions took great music, I’m glad Kxng Crooked and Joell Ortiz are back

    12. When Joe quit Lupe offered to join as a favor and Royce denied him. He didn’t wanna get washed on every track. He acting like this group is Run DMC when it really is just some dudes who never broke through.

    13. These guys think they were the Beatles. I just looked at my girl and asked if she ever heard of Slaughterhouse she said where they take pigs? I think everyone is in agreement yall were a disappointment, no material to match the talent. Now yall fight like the Beatles and go straight to social media. Im embarrassed for Joe and Royce. Building is worth millions lol??? Maybe with millions inside of it.

        1. Stop a person on the street and ask if they heard of slaughterhouse. They aint the beatles. They not even g unit. They hardly sold an album. No radio joints. No bangers. They were an idea that didnt work. Thats my point for the slow people in the room.

          1. They didn’t sell anything, because Em was giving them whack a$$ beats and didn’t put any of his juice behind the group.
All 4 have mad talent, they could have been a super group, but the energy was not put into it by Mathers. Period.

    14. Crook is so dam good, I like royce as a rapper. He’s had some crazy bars. I even like some of his takes on stuff but man is he so entitled. Him and Joe. Talking about you can’t talk to me, your down here and I’m up here. Then get roasted on a track he cant even reply to because everything in it was truth

    15. Royce ain’t no gangsta like Crook, Crook is ex death row and still a crip, Royce is an alkaholik from Detroit, not from the hood, big mistake big mistake!

      1. I fucking swear…the music is sharp but the man behind the music gets harder and harder to defend….I once said the same thing about Joe Budden…the cycle repeats.

    16. Remember when Royce was running with those D-Elite losers? What ever happened to those losers lol.. Em had D12, Royce formed D-Elite. It was a bunch of losers really.

      1. Yeah, he lost al he’s friends whe he started drinking, just like sh situation, he drinks and talks all that bs. He better go to aa

      1. this is absolutely the best response to that analogy. in addition, i don’t agree with the above statements that Royce is trash for ANY reason or length of time, but Budden was CERTAINLY and WITHOUT A DOUBT the weakest link in that group. add in the controversy with love & hip-hop, complex, spotify, and rory & mal? the man, as entertaining as he is sometimes, is definitely a cancer to everything he’s involved in.

    17. Crook and Joell already released a project together. As a slaughterhouse fan I can see why they’re frustrated but don’t see why they couldn’t have continued doing their own thing rather than using slaughterhouse to get promotion for an album and completing ruining any chances (even if incredibly slim) of re-uniting.

    18. Royce the midget and the ppppump it dude was always the weak links in character & rhyme…..I’m glad the gossiping bitch’s are now placed on the sidelines!!!! Let’s go Kiing Crk and J Ottizal get it!

    19. who cares? the slaughterhouse brand as essentially zero value. no one is checking for a slaughterhouse album in 2022. this ortiz/crooked collab is going double wood.

    20. Joe needs to stfu, his toxic personality destroyed it just like every other thing he touches. Love Royce but you weren’t that vocal when now ****Ed everything up for all ya. Not to mention you are on record saying the group is done and over…multiple times

    21. Royce been trash for years. Thinks he’s a he best, but cries all the time.

      Plus if it was 2v2

I’m takin joell and crooked over them.

      Bar for bar

    22. Y’all is whack if use hatin’ on Royce
59 ghost wrote tracks for many of your favorite rappers and continues to do so
59 is a top 50 lyricist, if you disagree I have to question your knowledge of poetical forms
I agree with Joe and Royce, if a group of people form something, it should be a collaboration to decide what happened next with a GROUP built project. It wasn’t built by one person, but all four people. Even if you decide to move on without the other two, it’s callee be courteous and at least letting your fellow mates know what your artistic plans are. But people don’t know what it means to collaborate as an artist. Royce is an artist, the rest are just ‘rappers’
