Rap Release Dates: Jay-Z, Wiz Khalifa, Crooked I, Devin The Dude

The first week of July brings with it some of the summer’s hottest releases.

Most of America will be celebrating Independence Day on Thursday. However, many others will be celebrating the release of Jay-Z’s twelfth studio album. Hova will officially release his upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail to the public on July 4. Recently, the tracklisting from the album and some lyrics were released to the public.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native Wiz Khalifa recently announced that he’s working on his third major label album and revealed the title of the project as well. Taking to Twitter, Wiz said that the title would be called Blacc Hollywood. Previously, the Taylor Gang CEO had also said he planned to drop the album this year.

Janelle Monae’s upcoming album The Electric Lady will hit retail shelves on September 10. Janelle and Atlantic Records recently delivered a new single “Dance Apocalyptic.” The project will feature music industry icon Prince.

Crooked I has been in the Hip Hop game since the 90s but has never officially released a solo full-length LP. Soon, that will change. The former Death Row Records hopeful-turned-Slaughterhouse member has finally announced the release date of his debut album, pinning July 30 the drop date for Apex Predator.

Devin The Dude announced the title of his eighth studio album. While no date is official the project is projected to release in September. Devin took to Twitter recently to announce the news.

Webbie announced that he’s dropping the fourth installment of the Savage Life Series. The Baton Rogue, Louisiana native has announced plans to release Savage Life 4Ever on September 1. Also, Webbie, Lil Boosie, Lil Phat, Lil Trill, Foxx and the other members of Trill Fam have announced the “Respect Is A Must” Tour.

    1. Rich Gang, Ace Hood, and Mayback vol. 3 are the lights in a shitty summer led by yeezus and MCHG.

    2. Can’t wait to see how many fools get shot at the “Respect is a Must Tour”. Shutting down a concert like that isn’t racism or prejudice, it’s common sense. It is a fact that the majority of people who faithfully listen to Webbie, Boosie, etc. are low-IQ, criminal minded simpletons that focus on weed, hoes, and clothes. Now to their defense, many of them grew up in tough circumstances but that doesn’t mean their animalistic behavior should be condoned.

In other news, waiting on Twista – The Dark Horse and Mystikal – Original, we’ll never actually get new Immortal Technique.

    3. some of those people even make horse noises at people, try to spy on em. than fight in front of people .even go as far as tricking little kids making faces when hey slam dunk

    4. even the skateboarders try to “think” their other colars .than try to get the ppl their trying to be lol

    5. juicy j are u fucking kidding me???? its pushed back to august i swear hiphopdx walk around with their head up their asses

    6. Typical of how dumb hiphopdx is wiz khalifa release DATE

THEN IT SAYS WIZ KHALIFA BLACC HOLLYWOOD TBA

      smfh

    7. ever heard of donky kong. the little racist white dude acts like his fixing things while the black monkey acts crazy lol

    8. they made a movie for the racist girls its called the exerist. if anyone would find out what their thinking . have fun

    9. yea kkk is looking threw peoples windows son of a bitch jump threw mother fuckers put the mothers out the bitch

    10. why is crooked i loser ass the front page pic?

guy is the definition of a bum. been rapping for 20 years and i cant name ONE song of his ppl wanna hear. oh but he can drop 4000 irrelevant freestyles that get him nowhere. he was a part of the slaughterhouse failure. yeah he’s a fucking bum. swollen head from being an alcoholic 40 yr old rap nigga. look at that head piece. nigga wear a sized 9 fitted cap?

not one release im excited for. rap music has never been worse. for retarded kids and lazy internet geeks that follow trash on twitter.

      1. This anonymous faggot must be joking! Can’t get swollen heads off his mind it seems. Best albums are (IMO):
        1. Crooked I – Apex Predator (Best Lyricist on the Gotdamn Planet!)
        2. Tech N9ne – Something Else (This dude really is Something Else – unlike all other garbage radio-stream artists.
        3. Chamillionaire – Reignfall (Always Consistant. Smooth Delivery & Dope Rhymes.)
        4. Jon Connor – The latest dude I’ve been following. Other than Lamar, Cole, A$AP, a couple others and this guy, the rest of these new freshman out now are a joke.

This list of course is my own preference, entirely independent artists if you happen to notice. I personally believe that not having to conform to what the record label wants, allows that artist the ability to craft that much better music, considering they can write about whatever they want to a certain degree, having ultimate say over their own music.

This, in turn, leads to less same ole, same ole, on account that business minded suits that don’t know shit about making music and only demand the next pop hit that’s the same as the last crap you listened to, end up staying the fuck out of the picture.

Sorry about the rant. It’s just my opinion. I could be wrong – except about Crooked. You’re just ridiculously ignorant if you’re talkin shit on C.O.B. Sutt Sutt!!!

    11. listening to that new Juicy J today that dropped. shit is dope!!! his best work yet, it aint on no weezus level. but this shit goes hard in the paint! ya bish? ya you bish! ya damn bish!!!

      1. this fuckin queer responds to himself multiple times every
time he posts something. i almost feel bad.

    12. Looking forward to Curren$y, Eminem, Tech N9ne, & Immortal Technique. Immortal Technique still hasn’t put out The Middle Passage or Revolutionary Vol. 3 yet tho!

      1. Immortal Technique is a crazy conspiracy theorist. He has no basis for his retarded theories

    14. Do you guys see the TBA list? Half of those albums will come out next year. If they all manage to drop alot of them will go under the radar.

    15. This website needs to be shamed!!! “Also, Webbie, Lil Boosie, Lil Phat, Lil Trill, Foxx and the other members of Trill Fam have announced the “Respect Is A Must” Tour.” WTF??? Lil Boosie is in prison and LIl Phat’s body (RIP) is in a cemetary. Do you guys have any knowledge of anything? I can’t believe that yall would post something like this.

    16. You guys need to stop doing this. Seriously. The first item in the list ‘Daz & WC – West Coast Gangsta Sh*t’ was out 2 weeks ago. If you are not going to put any effort into this don’t do it.
