Rap Release Dates: DJ Khaled, Jay Rock, Royce Da 5’9″, Pusha T

It was a little over a week ago that Jay-Z presented an as yet finished Watch the Throne with Kanye West to eager industry insiders. While we stil have a little while longer to wait for its August 2nd release, there are some releases before and after that fateful date to be (almost) equally excited about. This week, DJ Khaled drops We the Best Forever. The DJ turned President of Def Jam South leaked a few tracks from the project, most recently the Lex Luger-produced “Money” with Young Jeezy and Ludacris. Last month, “It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over” dropped with Mary J. Blige, Fabolous & Jadakiss. This week, Juicy J’s big brother Project Pat arrives with Loud Pack, and the Roc Marciano meets Gangrene (Alchemist plus Oh No) project Greneberg hits the streets.

The following week, Black Rob shines with Game Tested, Streets Approved as well as Wu-Tang Clan’s Legendary Weapons. However, the week belongs to Jay Rock, as Follow Me Home finally arrives on July 26. While the Detox July release rumors have settled down, there was a time where Dr. Dre’s opus was slated for July 26th as well. Not anymore.

As August enters, Watch the Throne will hit the ground running, and the following week Waka and Gucci arrive with Ferrari Boyz along with Royce Da 5’9 Success Is Certain. The last few weeks of August heat up with Game’s The R.E.D. Album, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV, and the newly mentioned Pusha T’s Fear Of God 2: Success Is Certain.

    1. August 9
Gucci Mane & Waka Flocka Flame – Ferrari Boyz
Royce Da 5’9″ – Success Is Certain

That’s going to be one of those dates where you just shake your damn head at the state of hip hop when those two ignorant shits chart higher than Royce.

      1. Too bad that exposure didn’t come 5-10 years earlier. maybe the bar would be a little bit higher for what kind of music passes as hip hop these days.

    2. they dont even mention Apathy’s Honkey Kong record dropping on Aug 23rd, that album will be better then 90% of the crap listed.

Gucci Mane & Waka Flocka Flame – Ferrari Boyz? these two fucktards are making an album togeather? the fuck, Doug below said it best, will be embarrasing when these two asshats chart higher then Royce.

    3. Fuck yeah Wu-Tang Legendary Weapons will be dope. Also, checking for Jay Rock, Royce and Pusha T.

    4. def checking for that royce. possibly that jay/kanye but i’m not sold yet. i’m kinda confused as to why ‘ye is straying away from production and more into rhyming? he’s aight on the mic but he’s a beast with the beats.

on another note check this upcoming project: Alias the @ikt x Sharp as FLomega.

    5. Looking forward to that new Wu and the new J-Live. That new Illus is DOPE! Glad I got my pre-order. Definitely one of the best albums I’ve purchased in a long time. Highly slept on.

      1. looking forward to seeing your lips wrapped round my anaconda tonight, forget da rubber we goin raw nite hoe

    6. Ferrari Boyz, Success is Certain, Loud Pack, and hopefully Legendary Weapons should be great. I might listen to Watch the Throne, hoping Kanye picks up the slack for old man Jay at this point in Jays career.

    7. Pusha T’s Fear Of God 2: Success Is Certain? If ya’ll lookin for a new editor i’ll do freelance lol. i’m pretty sure there aren’t 2 albums with success is certain in the title coming out in the same month.
