Pusha T has built a career off his drug dealing past, but it appears his skills on the stove don’t translate to culinary arts.

The Clipse rapper attempted to treat his wife, Virginia Williams, to a Valentine’s Day meal on Tuesday (February 14) by cooking her a steak. The end result wasn’t quite a chef’s kiss, though.

In text messages shared on his Instagram Stories, Pusha asked his wife for help with cooking a steak. “Heat it first?” he asked, to which Virginia replied by instructing him to coat the base of the pan with oil or butter, heat it sufficiently and cook the steak on both sides.

The 45-year-old lyricist then sent his wife a photo of the slab of freshly-cooked meat, which looked overly well-done. “Zang,” she replied. “Did you burn it?”

“Happy Valentine’s Day @kingpush [crying face emojis] sorry I wasn’t home to cook your steak,” Virginia captioned a screenshot of the texts on her Instagram Stories.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, I did good tho right??” Pusha jokingly replied in his own IG Story.

Fans had a field day with Pusha T’s steak-cooking skills on social media, resulting in his trademark dope boy raps being put under the microscope.

“And I’m supposed to believe he was in the kitchen cooking crack lol he ain’t never seen a stove before his life,” one person wrote on Instagram, while another joked: “Looking like he only specializes in one particular thing in the kitchen.”

“’It’s Almost Dry…,'” someone else quipped, referencing the title of Pusha’s 2022 album, while another fan brought up a line from his 2013 song “Nosetalgia”: “I let it sizzle on the stove like a minute steak.”

Pyrex P’s high-profile beef with Drake also provided plenty of ammo for puns. “He’s used to cooking Drakes that’s why,” one fan commented, while another joked: “Drake single cover loading.”

Away from the kitchen, Pusha T is currently gearing up to release his first Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama. The pair announced the project during a Twitter Spaces conversation with Rap Radar’s Brian “B.Dot” Miller in December and have since set the bar high, with Drama predicting it will win a Grammy.

“The Pusha T Gangsta Grillz definitely gonna be spicy,” the DJ said on the red carpet at the 2023 Grammy Awards earlier this month. “I feel like it could potentially be the next mixtape to win a Grammy.”
