Hailing from Virginia, Clipse launched onto the scene as connoisseur of “coke rap.” The duo, made up of brothers Pusha T and No Malice, linked up with The Neptunes in the '90s, marrying their street tales with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo's futuristic production. Clipse first signed with Elektra Records, but after their single "The Funeral" fell under the radar, their album got shelved. The the duo later joined Arista Records and changed the game with their debut album Lord Willin.' The classic single "Grindin” propelled the album to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and eventually gold status. After more label woes, Clipse hit the mixtape circuit hard and set up their Re-Up Gang collective. When their label issues finally cleared up, they returned with the critically acclaimed Hell Hath No Fury in 2006, followed by their third and final album, Til the Casket Drops, in 2009. The duo officially went on hiatus in 2010 and Pusha T and No Malice have since both pursued solo careers. In 2019, Clipse reunited on Kanye West's song "Use This Gospel.”
