Pusha T and DJ Drama have announced they’ll be teaming up to release a Gangsta Grillz mixtape sometime next year.

On Friday (December 23), the pair were guests in a Twitter Spaces chat with Rap Radar’s B. Dot, where they confirmed they would be dropping a new project together.

Fake Shore Drive‘s Andrew Barber took to Twitter to share the news, tweeting: “Pusha T & DJ Drama ‘Gangsta Grillz’ on the way???!! 2023.”

After someone hopped in his comments to ask for proof this wasn’t fake news, Barber added: “Live from @bdotTM’s Twitter spaces, confirmed by @DJDRAMA @PUSHA_T.”

The news comes after King Push revealed in a recent interview with XXL that he was working on both an album and a mixtape.

“I’m working on a special mixtape,” he told the publication earlier this month. He then explained why he wanted to drop a mixtape at this point in his career.

“To have the fun I want to have,” he said. “What I’m trying to do is restore the feeling in every aspect of this subgenre of music. And just of this cloth, of this taste level.”

He continued: “I’m just trying to make people realize how viable this is. To show people that I can’t do what you do, but you definitely can’t do what I do. I have to show those differences. That’s the whole premise behind the mixtape.”

Pusha also teased that the upcoming project could see him return to the lyrical level he was at on The Clipse’s acclaimed We Got It 4 Cheap Vol.2 mixtape. “If you can get Vol. 2 level out of me on that. Woah,” he said.

As for DJ Drama, Mr. Thanksgiving has been on quite a run since returning with a flood of new Gangsta Grillz projects.

The Generation Now co-founder resurrected the series with several high-profile releases from the likes of Tyler, The Creator, J. Cole and Dreamville, Jeezy, Dave East, Snoop Dogg, Jim Jones, Symba and more.

“I’m thankful for the resurgence of Gangsta Grillz and the numerous projects that I’ve done this year,” Drama told HipHopDX last month. “I don’t even want to start naming them because I don’t want to forget any. But you know, the Jeezy SnoFall is quite the talk of the town.
