Quavo has unveiled a hard-hitting new song snippet in which he compares himself to one of Hip Hop’s all-time greats: JAY-Z.
The track, which surfaced online on Wednesday (February 21), features ominous piano chords and trap drums accented by classic triplet hi-hats.

“I’m going all gold bottles, I’m the Nawfside Shawn Carter,” Quavo raps while sat in the back of a car.
The “Nawfside” lyric recalls the 2014 Migos song of the same name, which was produced by Zaytoven and found the group celebrating their native Gwinnett County, Georgia — particularly the city of Norcross.
Quavo and JAY-Z have had a good relationship going back to at least 2018, when the “Bad and Boujee” hitmaker provided ad-libs to Hov and Beyoncé‘s Grammy-nominated song “Apeshit” alongside Offset.
A few years later, the former Migos rapper shared a text message from JAY-Z in which the Roc Nation mogul praised the group’s Culture III single “Avalanche.”

“That Avalanche song is beautiful,” Hov wrote in the message to Quavo. “Congrats to you and the guys on the album. Peace God!”
An appreciative Quavo replied: “Thanks OG. We put everything we had into this one,” alluding to the extended three-year window between Culture II and Culture III.
The JAY-Z-referencing track isn’t the only new material Huncho has in the stash. Earlier this month, the 32-year-old debuted another unreleased song at Travis Scott’s Super Bowl party in Las Vegas.
It’s currently unclear if these new songs are for a solo project from Quavo or the previously-teased sequel to his 2017 album with Travis Scott, Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho.
