All the drama surrounding Pusha T’s album — including it getting a new title and artwork just days before its release — has come to an end. The G.O.O.D. Music president’s much anticipated DAYTONA LP is now available for the world to hear.
Pusha’s latest album is noteworthy for its brevity as it’s comprised of just seven songs. The project is produced entirely by Kanye West, who also makes a guest appearance alongside Rick Ross.
Check out Pusha’s DAYTONA stream, cover art and tracklist below.
(The previous version of this article was published on May 23, 2018 and can be found below.)
On the heels of Pusha T calling his long-awaited album “flawless,” Def Jam officially announced it will drop on Friday (May 25). The LP was originally titled King Push but has now been renamed as DAYTONA.
In a series of tweets, Pusha explained why he changed the title of the album and the meaning of the Daytona name.
“I changed the album title from ‘King Push’ to ‘DAYTONA’ because I felt it didn’t represent the overall message of this body of work,” he wrote. “‘DAYTONA’ represents the fact that I have the luxury of time. That luxury only comes when u have a skill set that your confident in.”
Def Jam’s album press release also cleared up months of speculation about the project, revealing Kanye West contributed to a song titled “What Would Meek Do?” in addition to producing the LP. Rick Ross is the only other guest, appearing on “Hard Piano.”
Daytona’s arrival will coincide with the release of exclusive new merchandise designed by Cali Thornhill Dewitt on KingPush.com. Dewitt previously worked with West to design the Pablo merchandise collection.

Pusha’s manager, Steven Victor, also made an announcement on the KanyeToThe forum about a listening party on May 24. An intrepid Reddit user posted a photo invite issued by Def Jam Records for people to attend the listening party, which will be held at the Public Arts Building in downtown New York City.
Check out the tracklist for Daytona below.
1. If You Know You Know
2. The Games We Play
3. Hard Piano f. Rick Ross
4. Come Back Baby
5. Santeria
6. What Would Meek Do? f. Kanye West
7. Infrared

Smmfh*…I’m not a big push fan but he hyped the album up as far back as my name & is going to drop an ep instead of a long play*..I blame fake ass genius yeezy*
All this hype for a glorified EP? Don’t get me wrong I expect it to be dope start to finish, but 7 tracks is too short in my opinion, especially for something that’s been hyped for 5 years now.
Well, this is kinda disappointing. I’m sure the songs will still be hot, but like the ones below me said, he’s been hyping “King Push” since 2013, only at the last second to change the album title. And only 7 tracks, my dude? I hope these aren’t 2-3 minute tracks either. I hate it when rappers put out 20 minute EPs and call them “albums”. I hope Nas’ album isn’t like this either.
7 tracks? I feel he’s going strong on this one… -_-‘
His face is in this picture is like “are there idiots who really wanna buy this?”
Its an EP, No Album
Love Pusha but I guess we can remove him from AOTY contention bc 7 tracks aint a fuckin album.
Stop calling this an album. This is an EP.
Pusha is in my top 5 presently rhyming today but to only put 7 songs on his newest project since the release of his last album which dropped in December 2015 is a disappointment to put it bluntly.
I don’t care about Kanye’s forthcoming album at all but if he fucks up Nas’ first project in 6 years with this 7 song bullshit, man listen…
Maybe the definition of an album is being rewritten? Album lengths were a result of the time constraints of the method of delivery . Vinyl, to tapes, to cds. Now everything is digital or special edition vinyl. 7 quality tracks would suffice nicely for the collection of music that will be DAYTONA.
You know the difference between an LP & an EP is not the number of songs, but the overall length of the project right? So it can be 7 songs but long as the total length is over 45 minutes, it’s still AL album.
Isn’t it quality over quantity? Thriller is only 9 songs. 4:44 is 10 songs but about 35 mins in length. Can’t we hear the music first, then critique it? This is like people saying the album is not going to be good because they don’t like the cover.
Its actually both. Quality in a decent Album Size. If you can only produce a good 7 Song “Album” its not good or if you spam 40 filler Songs its not good either. You need to find a perfect balance.
Yeah but even if the 7 Song are all 5 Minutes, which is long for a song, its would be only 35 Minutes. 7 Songs is not an Album, pal.
More Kanye faux art BS. Just release the damn full album already with dope beats and rhymes.
Faux art? Just admit you dont know shit about art
And you‘re quite the connoisseur, aren’t you?
If its the 7 best songs out of all the stuff he’s recorded, then I’m cool with it.
He needed 15 or 20 jams on this rt. This coming from a Push T Young Boy/ Lord Will’n *Fan*. Re-up gang vol 1 type nicca. 7 tracks ain’t what it is. Someone with w/ his calibur should be able to easily make a full length classic.
….but I’m a hater rt
I’m sorry hardly a fan of this guy yes he flow but 7 songs stop unless they are perfection which is unlikely what too busy for 12 pack album.
I swear you feminine dudes bxtch and moan more than heaux. Mouthing off when you know good n well you want what’s coming. 7 songs is blehblehbleh wah wah. Complain, but you still gonna get slapped on the cheeks with this 7, get off, and go to bed. Now shut up before I stuff your face in the pillow. PUSHHH.
looks like a fvkcing cas-single
I can predict. This will be drag and drop straight to the trash bin. Nas will be too scared to release a project with Kanye and Kanye’s album will be the only one without throwaway songs/beats and only a few people will buy it.
Is this what hiphop needs? Some 50 year old dude rapping about his money and coke. At a certain age you have to grow up and stop rapping about childish stuff. For the Stans album gonna be a flop commercial and artisticly.
Dear God, help save hiphop and send this lame old dudes and rappers with the name Lil and Young straight to HELL
spoon up yo crack again?
he JUST turned 41, if anything call him 40, not 50. Maybe not my most preferred content, but Pusha is easily better than 90% of rappers out now (well, not that thats saying all that much), so for all I care he can keep rapping about moving weight in his 50s as long as he stays dope. Commercial flop? Ehh, I think it’ll do fairly well sales (and stream) wise. Artistically, if its even half of how good its been hyped up, I think it’ll be considered an artistic success.
Personally I wouldnt call 7 songs an album. But! I got really high hopes for this project. Push got bars for days and i think everything he put out as official releases (also w clipse) has high quality.
What the fuck, men! King Push was such a dope title. Who give a flyin fuck about a daytona, Shit! its happening already. The self destruction of push
Man they have been pushing and promoting this album for like 4 years. Now 7 tracks….. another mixtape that I will listen to for two days and it will be forgotten. It better be the best 7 tracks I’ve ever heard, a lot of expectations for Pusha.
I’ve been anticipating this album for years now, so having only a couple tracks is kinda weak, but I guess all his albums have a few really dope songs and the rest are filler, so as long as all the tracks are fire this will still be his best work. I thought Kanye’s Twitter promise would end up not happening, so now I wonder if he will actually release a solo album and an album with Cudi in the next two weeks.
Been waiting for new Push music. 7 songs is enough. Hopefully all fire.
7 songs equals no subject matter
Listening now. 21 minutes of pure fucking fire. All yall spoiled ass chirrin would rather bitch about what your not getting than embrace what you have been given. Ill take new bomb ass music anyday anyway. If you know you know
“Only ever looked up to Sosa. Everybody get a bird, this n Oprah” Push went off on this one. Very good beats also. Nice EP.
This is pure ???
This is pure flames
This is nice!! Good hip hop, dope flow and lyrics accompanied by good beats. Indeed it’s flawless
Flawless album. Just perfect. Amazing production by Ye and Push nailed it like always. These two are great together.
Favorite song: Santeria.
Hard Piano kills! 🙂
Re-Up Gang/Clipse used the same sample on the first verse of Santeria on Ultimate Flow. Fire. Oh, the first two bars on “Hard Piano” had me rolling.
This sh!+ rocks! Best rap album of 2018 so far…
7 songs?? Is this a joke?
Been listening to this EP over and over. He got so many dope bars on there it’s crazy. I keep cracking up by something new with every playthrough. And the beats are fire!!
I’ve actually been doing this for years. It’s very much like Push a T said… By keeping the album short, you show an immense amount of respect for your listener. Too many rap albums have so much fluff. The bear’s gotta build up 20-30 seconds every track. The book is on repeat after each verse. If you strip most of these rappers’ work down to the verses and maybe just one or two hooks, you realize there’s not much there. And yes, copy and paste albums are terribly inconsiderate of listeners’ time. I’m glad someone else gets it. But truthfully, this is not a new technique.
The beat*
The hook*
Meh….I like albums to soundtrack something…a commute, a concentrated work task, a gym session. At 20 minutes imma be fumbling for the controls to put something else on. Now that being said, given the way things are shaping up I looks like Wyoming is going to give us a 28 track “double album” worth of material that will last the whole summer. This next few weeks shows a lot of promise off this first one.
I understand. And I’m not disagreeing. I just get tired of that same formulaic song structure that goes either two ways: intro, hook, verse, hook, verse 2, hook, verse 3, hook, beat rides out. Or beat builds for 30 40 seconds with all this bombastic OVER production, verse, hook, verse, hook. When you limit the gimmicks, these songs are typically lacking content hence the reason for so many features. It’s standard and it works of course. But it has also become overused and stale. Personally, I’m a fan of rapping as soon as the beat starts, or only letting the beat build 5 or 10 seconds then jumping in.
“The Games We Play” I think it encompasses his attempt as calling this an album, the energy and flow that the EP should have all around maintained. I don’t know why Nas could even dare call this a classic. We shall forget about it as fast as we forgot about KOD. An overhyped small delivery that did not meet its expectation but did not disappoint Hip Hop wise in terms of bars, beats and tryng something new! 3/5 Now go back and gives us King Push without Kanye 10 plus songs SMH!
Can’t stop listening, bars and beats on point
Daytona being 21 minutes worth of 7 songs is going to usher in a new wave of music. I can understand why most listeners would find 7 songs disappointing, but no quality was sacrificed. When we listen to albums, we usually pick out two or three songs that we enjoy and dump the rest anyways, so for Pusha T and Kanye to create a project where every song bangs both lyrically and production-wise in such a dense format really encapsulates the phrase “less is more”.
Too bad the choruses on “hard piano” and “santeria” are atrocious.
Let’s not call it a new wave of music. Let’s say he’s bringing back something that should’ve never left. Let’s remember Illmatic’s total running time. Also, you can peep The El’s albums — minimalism at its best. Finally, across all genres, there are artists such as Maxwell and Erykah Badu who released albums shorter than 10 tracks to widespread consumer and critical acclaim. From what I heard though, Pusha T dropped a gem. Peace.
He’s a one trick pony. If you heard one of his verses, you heard them all. Middle class college kid from Virginia frontin like he was some ill drug dealer. Meanwhile, his brother is out here recanting all his lies.
Stop the hate
The hater vs. The dick rider. An age old rivalry.
How do you know this. Stop going along with what you hear and do research.
Research? If you gotta do research to find validity in something somebody constantly talks about then off the muscle you know they’re lying or grossly exaggerating. Let’s say for arguement’s sake that he did even 10% of what he claims. He STILL talks about it way too much. I’m not saying he can’t rhyme. I’m saying he’s one dimensional. If that’s enough to please you, that’s cool. Personally, I prefer artists with more depth.
PURE FIRE> Thank god for a rap album for real. Just please release the physical version. I like streaming, but LOVE collector’s item. Not a huge Kanye fan, but he did his job on production and PUSH destroyed every verse. Now just Nas, Ross, Meek and one or two more real hip hop releases for 2018 and I am cool. Kinda of disappointed in what Common’s doing (August Greene), but I’d take another album from him too, but thoughout and not making fake anthem music. But five stars for DAYTONA and the artwork/cover. Still wish it was 10 songs though. Like eating a great meal with no drink
Yup..total garbage..n if you think its not you are full of it
Kanye should’ve kept “The Games We Play” beat for himself or Nas. Pusha T only deserves the straight trash beats IMO.
Can we go ahead and give Ye his top 5 producer of all time. I mean dude really should be top 3
The beats are dope, but kaynes not fuckin with alchemist or just blaze, top 5 of all time FOH
JUST BLAZE IS OVERRATED. DUDE IS TOP 30 AT BEST.
LOL @ this being a masterpiece. All this is is talking about drugs this drugs that. It gets old real quick and is rather boring, not even close to a masterpiece.
Ye definitely top 5 producers for me with Dre, Timbo, Pharrell and Swizz.
Pusha can spit and these beats remind me of vintage Kanye for real but this defiantly isn’t no classic it comes out pretty average to me, the only way I could really relate to the subject matter on this is if I sold $100,000 of cocaine every month….
That last line of your comment killed me PWAHAHAHAHA. Daytona is like when you hand in a well edited term paper as a thesis project.
Intro goes hard as fukk tho..
Sorry to Ben then one to stair, but… the new A$SAP Rocky shit is better.
Troll harder.
Push is a beast lyrically, but 7 more songs about stretching coke? There’s no way he’s knee deep in this stuff at this point in his life. Kanye’s production on this is stellar though.
Album sounds dope so far (no pun intended). Thankfully there are no trap records on this album. The world is a better place without repetitive, no originality trap music. Pusha proves that you can have that content lyrically, but the music needs to be authentic and original to stand out. All trap artists on trap beats sound the same.
If cocaine didn’t exist would Pusha T?
This Pusha T album is spectacular!
Did it really take this 41 year old rapper three years to put out a glorified EP? It took you three years to drop a 23 minute mediocre at best project…. Wow, I mean I guess I would rather listen to this than all that mumbling bullsh*t thats hot..but Pusha T might be one of the most overrated rappers ever. People really have this guy in their top 5 lmao. Brainwashing is real. Someone like ROC MARCIANO has ten times the talent of Pusha T. That dude has a true original flow with inventive wordplay and multiple banging albums released this decade, AND he can produce with the best of them. Always thought Clipse were cool, but pretty simple when it boils down to it, and lets be real, without PHARRELL, there would be no Pusha T.
I listened to them all in this article and each song is only 30 seconds long WTF?
Loses meaning when he only releases this to coincide with the album. If you are so passionate about the subject matter, you release it whenever.
