Playboi Carti delivered another high-energy performance at Rolling Loud California this weekend, despite having to pause his set due to what he called “an emergency” in the crowd.
The Atlanta native took the stage just before 10 p.m. local time on Friday (March 3) to close out day one of the festival’s first Los Angeles edition in four years. However, according to Daily Breeze, his performance was interrupted after three songs as fans began jumping the barricades.

In a clip pulled from the Rolling Loud livestream, Playboi Carti can first be heard sounding slightly annoyed as he tells the crowd that festival organizers have stopped the music. He then offers an explanation as to why his set has been interrupted.
“It’s an emergency right now, someone’s hurt in the fucking crowd,” he says to the audience. “Let’s take a break for a second. Everybody needs to back up.”
After Carti left the stage, Rolling Loud c0-founder Tariq Cherif took to the mic to deliver a message to those chanting for the rapper to return: “The crowd needs to calm down, and anyone who jumped over the barricade needs to walk out, or we will shut this thing down.”
HipHopDX has not been able to confirm whether anyone was seriously injured during the set.

Carti’s last appearance at the Wireless Festival in 2022 took a surprising turn when the rapper inadvertently fell off the stage while performing with his back to the crowd.
While the tumble was captured on film by a fan and ended up going viral, Playboi Carti took the misstep in stride and continued his set.
