Drake has linked up with his OVO Sound signee Popcaan in the video for their latest collaboration “We Caa Done.”

With director Theo Skudra behind the lens, the October’s Very Own pair join forces in Turks and Caicos as they bask in the island lifestyle. They meander on jet skis and relax at beachside bars, all while the esteemed dancehall singer croons about his wealth and lavish lifestyle.

“We Caa Done” was first teased by Popcaan on Twitter on Wednesday (January 4), two days ahead of its release. The new single will appear on Poppy’s forthcoming album Great Is He, due out later this year via OVO Sound.

The new project, which was meant to arrive in 2022 but never materialized, comes two years after he dropped his Fixtape LP in 2020, which featured appearances from Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, French Montana and others.

Drizzy signed Popcaan to his OVO imprint back in 2016, and came under fire shortly after by Mr. Vegas, who accused the 6 God of being a “fake” for not crediting the dancehall pioneers he utilized on his Views album.

“Why did Drake link Beenie Man to on sing back that record if that’s the one he wanted? Or why let Beenie Man do something new?” Vegas asked during an interview with Ebro In The Morning at the time.

“So then I’m listening to the record further and at the end of the record when the record done, you can hear the record fin, Beenie Man doing the outro. So I’m like, Drake is rampaning my artists. You using my artists as intro men.”

Mr. Vegas was referring to “Controlla,” which includes a Beenie Man sample from his song “Tear Off Mi Garment.” A sample of Popcaan’s “Luh Yuh Bad” was also included on the Rihanna-assisted “Too Good,” and both dancehall artists are credited on the respective songs.

Popcaan was quick to defend his label bossand bit back at Vegas in a since-deleted Instagram post pledging his allegiance to OVO.

“OVO Unruly, we don’t need your help. Don’t try to violate my brother now,” he said. “You don’t know anything about Unruly or OVO. You don’t need to defend Popcaan.”
