Pharrell Pays Off Student Debt For 5 NAACP College Leaders

With Pharrell’s Something In the Water Festival set to take over Washington D.C. this weekend, Skateboard P decided to make the life of five NAACP student leaders that much easier.

Pharrell announced on Friday (June 17) that he’s clearing the college debt of five students during an NAACP panel at the St. Regis Hotel highlighting the student debt crisis for Black scholars. The students were in complete shock realizing they’d be debt-free for the future.

“I’m going to law school,” one student tearfully revealed after hearing about Pharrell’s generous offer.

Wisdom Cole, an organizer of the NAACP panel, added, “Pharrell forever changed their lives. This was a powerful moment. Now just imagine if President Biden made this a reality for all student debt holders in America.”

Pharrell decided to pull the festival from his hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia last October over concerns about how the city handled the police killing of his cousin Donovon Lynch.

Something In The Water boasts a lineup that includes P’s “Cash In Cash Out” collaborators Tyler, The Creator and 21 Savage as well as Ashanti, Ja Rule, Lil Uzi Vert, Rae Sremmurd, 6LACK, Roddy Ricch, Snoh Aalegra and more.

Earlier this week, Pharrell also blessed all graduating seniors in the Washington D.C. public school system with a free admission pass to Something In The Water.

      1. Are you referring to the innocent people that human traffic children and trade their teenage daughters for goats? The people who throw acid on a woman’s face for masturbating? Yeah. I’m sure you’ll be there in hell holding hands with your boy.

    1. Teaching young people with promising futures that its ok not to pay back their debts is a bad idea. Choosing them by the color of their skin instead of by the content of their character is an even worse idea.

      1. You hate on everything? He could be teaching young people that when you do good work for other ppl, there’s rewards down the road.

        1. When you do good work for one specific group of people only (racist) you no longer have the responsibility of paying back what you have borrowed. That’s what you mean, right? Sounds like YOU’RE the hater. LOL

          1. You know why the NAACP was established in America? “Advancement of Colored People”. Colored people = Latin, Native American, Middle Eastern, African American. Just chill out and enjoy your privilege

            1. At this point, a lot of it is our fault. If you shoot up a whole block for clout, what can the NAACP do then?
