PARTYNEXTDOOR has seemingly kicked off the countdown to a new project, announcing a single called “Her Old Friends” after wiping his Instagram account of all content.
Fans of the Canadian singer-songwriter found that he had removed all posts from his IG feed on Thursday (December 12). Around 1:00 p.m. EST, PARTY posted the cover to his new single, with the simple caption: “‘Her Old Friends’ out tonight.”

While he also shared the post to his stories, he did not include a snippet of the song.
The single announcement was not shared to his Twitter account, on which PARTYNEXTDOOR hasn’t posted anything in almost a month.
Fans may have to wait until the new single arrives on streaming platforms to hear it, but prior to deleting his social media content, PARTYNEXTDOOR shared a snippet of a sultry new track called “Assumptions.” The preview was captured on IG Live on December 22 and shared to YouTube by a fan.
Aside from an appearance on Diddy‘s latest single, “Sex In The Porch,” as well as features alongside OG Parker and Preme, PARTYNEXTDOOR has been fairly quiet since 2020, which is when he released his third album, Partymobile.

Arriving four years after his previous album P3, the project debuted at the No. 8 position on the Billboard Hot 200 chart with 50,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week. Partymobile included the 2019 Drake-assisted single “LOYAL,” which also spawned a remix featuring Bad Bunny.
The only other feature to be found on the 15-track LP was Rihanna on “BELIEVE IT.”
PARTYNEXTDOOR was much more active in the months around the release of his last full-length project. In 2020 alone, he appeared on tracks by Summer Walker, French Montana, DVSN, DaniLeigh, Kali Uchis and Ruby Rose.
Adding to the speculation that PARTY may be readying a full album for 2023, the artist was included in OVO Sounds’ 2022 recap post on Twitter, which promised “NEW SOUND ALL ’23.” The post consisted of videos featuring Drake, DVSN and other artists from the imprint’s roster who delivered new music in 2022.

Another static image posted as a video spotlighted all of the cover art featuring the OVO camp last year. The post was accompanied by an image featuring those whose music would see light in 2023, including PARTYNEXTDOOR.
