Papoose “The Nacirema Dream” Tracklist & Cover Art

After nearly a decade of waiting, fans will soon get to hear Papoose’s long-awaited debut studio album.

In a recent press release, Papoose revealed that he is preparing to release The Nacirema Dream on March 26 via Honor B4 Money Records. The Bed-Stuy rapper also debuted the cover art for the project, as well as the title of the LP’s second single, “What’s My Name” featuring Remy Ma.

Papoose also released a letter to his fans addressing the album’s numerous delays, saying that, “the politics of the music business got the best of me.” He went on to describe his album as a refelction of the American dream and the culmination of his life’s experiences.

As previously mentioned, The Nacirema Dream was first announced in 2006 after Papoose signed with Jive Records to the tune of $1.5 million. The album’s first single, “On Top of My Game” with Mavado, debuted late last year.

    1. If this like The Greastest Story Never Told had come out in 06-07 they would’ve gone gold or sold at least 300k. Now this is not even gonna do 20k.

But on the music side of things just think certain songs are gonna sound outdated. Maybe he’s put all new material on there but law library stuff was from an 06 style of hip hip (gritty NY mixtapes when D Block, Dipset, G Unit were popping). Now its all A$AP and Joey BadA$$.

    2. It’s funny how both Saigon and Papoose were the only new rappers people were checking for at one point..but BOTH fucked their careers up prematurely. It’s sad cause they were in position for years and just wasted their buzz….Saigon fucked up messing with a Just Blaze label and Papoose got greedy and chased money instead of looking for a good home. Now instead of them leading the new generation it’s a bunch of corny hipster rappers…Damn

      1. yup. around 04-05 i really thought those two were going to be the future of east coast hip hop. i couldn’t imagine myself being so wrong. but as you said they both took the wrong path and ended up where they are now.

      2. BUT IF THE AUDIENCE IS A BUNCHA YOUNG HIPSTERS, WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO???

HOW ELSE WOULD YOU ENTICE THEIR INTEREST???

NIGGAZ JUST LIVING IN THEIR TIMES, RATHER THAN BEING STUCK IN THE 90’S…

WE ALREADY PASSED THE 2000’S AND NIGGAZ STILL STUCK IN THE 90’S???

SAIGON AND PAPOOSE ARE BORING AS FUCK DAWG…THEY WAS COOL WHEN WERE ALL IN COLLEGE, HIGH AS FUCK, THINKING WE THE NEXT REVOLUTIONARIES, NAHMEAN???

YALL REMEMBER THAT SHIT…NOW WE GROWN ASS NIGGAZ…SO EITHER YOU GONNA LISTEN TO SOME REAL SHIT, NOT SOME “TRY-TOO-HARD-TO-BE-CONSCIOUS-PAPOOSE-SAIGON-SHIT-FORCED-ASS-SHIT”, NAHMEAN???

WE JUST BE IN THE CLUB NODDING OUR HEADS TO THAT ROZAY OR JEEZY…

        WORD

      3. Real, Saigon’s first “Greatest Story Never Told” was a banger from start to finish, but his part 2 was awful compared to the first…… Hopefully Papoose’s first Nacirema album will be fire knowing the rest of them would be luke warm….

    3. I had enormous hopes for papoose from ’05 even past his buzzing days until about the end of ’09 I thought he could change the game. not really anticipating anything like that anymore after hearing the singles he’s dropped for this album, you can’t have the song ‘like that’ on an album and call the album classic, I just hope he brings his best lyrcs on at least half the songs and drops some real gems. beyond that, I hope he eats well off this album and gets some good producers in the studio for the next one and that the next one comes out in the next 10 years

    4. just keep doing your alphabet slaughter thing…I mean this dude is using that down south shitty laser transition every coulple of bars on ‘top of my game’…the moment I hear that I think the artist has no sense

    5. LOL does anyone actually care? I mean, if were 2006 people would. Dude says the corniest lines and he thinks hes so clever. Give it up, please.

On a side note, at least people in the industy still fuck with Saigon, and when GSNT finally came out 2 yrs ago it was getting rave reviews. Saigon also don’t run around saying he is the king of NY and other that other shit Papoose be saying ANd dude is on some less violent shit than he was in his earlier days. At least his music has a message to it.

    6. Yeah I’ll pass, but “A Threat & A Promise” and Menace II Society PT. II are still in heavy rotation. Classic Tapes from Pap right there, wish homey dropped the album when he had a buzz man…

    7. 40 year old mixtape BUM, dude was first Saigon and even if he had more potential than that steroid bloated cornball, his day is lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng over. Maybe Pap can ask Busta Rhymes is he needs a foot rub?

    8. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAA

HAS HE BEEN HOLDING COVER FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS???

      HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

    9. I hope none of my southern brothers and sisters purchase his wack music, because he said that people in the south were stupid and couldn’t understand his music.

I’m glad Fat Joe put them paws on him a few years ago.

      1. HE AINT LYING. ALMOST ALL OF YOU ARES STUPID AS FUCK! YOU CANT EVEN TALK RIGHT IN YOU MUSIC NOONE EXCEPT OTHER DUMB FUCKS IN THE SOUTH UNDERSTAND EACHOTHERS UNEDUCATED TALK LMAOOO!!!

    10. FINALLY. Been following Pap since the beginning. I was about ready to put hopes for this joint in the reserves alongside the rumored LOX album.

    11. If you’ve been working on that album your entire life, maybe you should check the spelling in your statement as well.

In the last phrase you call your own album “The Nacirema Deam” (no letter R), while it should have been “The Nacirema DReam”.

These rappers really do it to themselves.

      1. nigga stfu!!!!….not about music or anything…jus shut up…he left a letter out and ruined his career? kill yaself…YA MAMA!

    12. Why does is matter if he has a buzz or not? If you like his music then you like his music. If you don’t then you don’t. People are sheep anyway so why rely on them to determine what’s hot and what isn’t? Don’t believe me, then why is Trinidad James buzzing? Thank you.

    13. I’ve been waiting for this album since 2007, the year I got introduced to Pap! Bow I’m contemplating on whether to download it when it comes out oe to buy it from itunes just to symvbolically show my respect because back in the days anyway I was impatient for it to drop to cop it! Good luck homey!

    14. I hope this ends up like Saigon’s “Greatest Story Never Told” and be one of the most incredible hip-hop album of 2013 and beyond!

    15. To say this album will flop is an understatement, and having your second single feature your wife? Guess he couldn’t afford NM, or even Lil Kim.

    16. Been waiting way too long but at least he came with a good 20 track deep album cant believe they never put this out when he had the most buzz for a rapper around better go pre-order off amazon cause i know most you bitches are waiting on wayne n tyga hahaha sad faggots

    17. I mean, Saigon still was able to push some decent Indy numbers when Greatest story dropped, hopefully Pap has the same luck…. Kinda doubt it tho 🙁

      1. Well, he could have done much worse. His album didn’t have much hype but sales were still respectable, especially when compared with the flop that was Somethin Bout Kreay.

    18. LONG TIME SUPPORTER OF PAP…IF THIS ALBUM IS WEAK I WILL DROP THIS NIGGA OUT OF MY LIFE…WAITED TOO LONG FOR THIS SHIT AND THERE BETTER NOT BE ANY TRACKS WHERE HE IS SINGING…I WANT SOME HAIL MARY TYPE TRACKS

    19. Basquiat just killed himself that this bum nigga is representing black folks…

Forget his years of wackness, who designed that cover, the same retard who did the last piece of shit Saigon album?

      rap music sucks.

    20. “I’ve been preparin this album my whole life” – Proclamation
“What is his race, nation, or creed?” – Smokin’

    21. pap was telling me he got a boy dat is serious with photoshop on twitter..

      he waznt lyinnnn!!!

      cover is craaaazzzzy

cant wait to hear the track wit ron browz it smell like a hit and it smell like money

pap gonna change the game like a kid mad at his nintendo and yall haters gonna live witttt it!! haaa haaa

      scrap for pap pack biznessss

    22. Him and remy ma should make an album called “no one cares and our career’s are over, does BET have any more hosting gigs i can have?… i wish it was still 2005”

    23. I wonder if there is anybody in addition to Pap, Hav and Prodigy on “Aim shoot”. The voice on da hook feels as if I heard Jada.

    24. guess ill have to peep it.. i was lookin for it like 5 years ago n it never dropped and i kinda stopped checkin for pap. i always thought he was dope but i just lost appeal ill peep this thru you tube see if its good enough to buy..
