Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s eldest son, ODB Jr. was only a teenager when his father passed away from a drug overdose and says that he watched him get high right before his untimely death in an interview with VladTV.
The 26-year-old admits to smoking weed when he was younger however this time it was different because his Dad forced him to watch him get high, describing it as the most memorable moment he’s ever had with his late father.
“We was kind of hanging out,” ODB Jr. says. “He was smoking a lot of drugs. So the last time he was here, he got as high as he could ever get.”
Ol’ Dirty Bastard passed away the evening of November 13, 2004. He was 35. An autopsy revealed the rapper died from a lethal mixture of cocaine and the prescription drug Tramadol just two days before his birthday.
“He got as high as he could ever get,” Young Dirty Bastard continues. “He told me to sit there and watch him. Eye-to-eye. We did that. Then that was it.”
The Brooklyn, New York native also says that his father was seeing angels before he passed away and this was the first time he had ever done that.
“My father was doing it in front of me and looking dead in my eye,” he says. “It was time. Time to elevate.”
After leaving the studio and heading back home, he says his family received a phone call that his father was pronounced dead.
