Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Return To The 36 Chambers” To Be Reissued With Laminated Food Stamp Card

Wu-Tang Clan co-founder Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s debut album, Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version is the latest 1990s release to be officially re-issued on vinyl and 2CD by Boston, Massachusetts-based Get On Down Records. The late emcee’s 1995 Elektra Records gold debut, which was almost entirely produced by the RZA, will come back into print on November 22.

Get On Down has added a deluxe bill-fold wallet, laminated ‘food stamp” card, a vintage “on tour” poster, promotional sticker, extended artwork with liner notes, milestones and accolades. The re-issue’s second disc features: 12″ versions, remixes, instrumentals, and acapellas.

The food stamp card, prominently featured as the original album’s cover art, plays on O.D.B.’s famous MTV segment where the platinum Wu-Tang emcee collected state-appropriated funds at a check-cashing store.

According to Get On Down, the re-issue is licensed and approved by the estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Previously, the label released deluxe re-issues of fellow Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah’s Ironman and Supreme Clientele.

    5. I already have the cd but it sounds like I’m going to have to get this, nothing like hearing different songs from the time period and also getting the food stamp card is tight.
