Offset has made it clear that he’s none-too-pleased with a recent stunt performed by a would-be influencer and celebrity impersonator for involving the late TakeOff in his antics.

The aspiring social media personality, who goes by “TakeDown” on Instagram, posted the offending reel on March 1. There, he donned a pair of sunglasses and went walking around a mall pretending to be the late Migos rapper.

At one point, he even said, “I’m a celebrity lookalike — of course when I’m out in public, people think they’ve seen the ghost of TakeOff.”

Set, however, who didn’t find out about the stunt until Monday (April 8), commented, “No you don’t twin shit not funny!!!!!!!” on the reel.

The influencer wasn’t fazed by Offset’s protests, and replied, “no disrespect but I think I do and so do others but why we can’t turn something negative into something positive?Long live takeoff.”

In a follow-up post, the man doubled down again and wrote, “It’s ok to impersonate Tupac but not Takeoff? Make it make sense.”

Back in July 2023, Offset stopped by Way Up With Angela Yee, where he got candid on an array of topics in his life, including the burden of continuing the journey as a superstar rapper without TakeOff by his side.

“I’m unhealed. I’m being honest, I lost my brother. I’m not healed — I’m not good,” Offset said. “And this shit don’t help nothing. We stars so people be thinking it’s just cool but I’m a real grown man. I cry every day about this shit. At some point, it fucks me up every day.”

He continued: “And then it be this type of bullshit on top of shit that be too much for me. I’m still a human being. I’m dealing through shit personally and people’s opinions matter nowadays. What’s on Twitter matters, what’s being said. I play cool, I smile for the cameras, I do fashion week, and all this shit but behind the scenes I need my woman to be there for me for what I’m going through.”

In October 2023, Set paid tribute to the fallen Migos rapper on a new track called “Say My Grace” from Offset’s sophomore solo album Set It Off, which arrived on October 13.

Over dramatic production from Vinylz, FNZ, Maneesh and Tom Levesque, the former Migos member looks to the sky and asks God: “Why I didn’t get a answer?/ Why I lose my brother to bullets?/ Why I lose my grandma to cancer?/ Why mе, God? I need answers.”

In his guest verse, Travis Scott also touches on his grief over TakeOff’s murder, rapping: “I’m in a meditate state/ Ever since we lost bro, ain’t really much more I can take.”

Quavo Continues To Mourn TakeOff Ahead Of ‘Rocket Power’ Album: ‘I Miss U So Much’

TakeOff (real name Kirshnik Khari Ball) was shot and killed outside of a Houston bowling alley in November 2022, just weeks after the release of his collaborative album with QuavoOnly Built For Infinity Links..

Authorities say the 28-year-old rapper was an “innocent bystander” to a dice game involving Quavo and other men that escalated into an argument and, tragically, a shootout. An autopsy revealed that TakeOff was fatally wounded in the head and torso.
