Nicki Minaj‘s fifth LP Pink Friday 2 has already begun piling up the accolades and breaking streaming records just two days following its release.
The project arrived on Friday (December 6) and according to Chart Data, the sequel to Nicki’s debut is already certified gold. The 500,000 equivalent album units include sales and streams from three previously-released singles: “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” “Super Freaky Girl,” and “Last Time I Saw You.”
Minaj has also broken Spotify’s record for the biggest debut of an album by a female Hip Hop artist with a reported 41 million streams this weekend alone.
“Barbz, Look,” she wrote, sharing the Chart Data news with her die hard fans.
Nicki’s PF2 is slated to sell between 170,000 and 190,000 album-equivalent units, according to Hits Daily Double,
The outlet is also calling the project “the biggest female rap debut of 2023,” which would give the Queen her third No. 1 album atop the Billboard 200.
Minaj has more gifts for her Barbz as she’s teasing a deluxe of sorts arriving next week with four additional tracks. One of the new additions will feature fellow Queens legend 50 Cent, who is hopping on the “Beep Beep (Remix).”
Nicki hinted at the collaboration on Friday, while responding to a Complex headline highlighting which tracks the outlet believes to be the best from the album.
“Well wait til they hear Schfifty Schent verse on it next week. #GagCity we here,” Nicki captioned a repost of the story.
In a follow-up, on Saturday (December 9), she hit up Fif directly, urging him to fork over the highly anticipated feature.
“Send that verse in sir [sigh emoji]#QGTM,” she wrote; accompanied by a snap of the pair — a picture shared by 50 Cent as part of a birthday wish to the superstar on the eve of her big day.
Pink Friday 2 clocks in at 22 tracks and boasts additional features from Drake, Lil Wayne, Future, Lil Uzi Vert and others.
The project serves as the sequel to her 2010 debut album Pink Friday and her first album since 2018’s Queen, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 185,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.
A tour is expected to follow the album’s release, and Minaj recently told fans to expect a completely different experience this time around and that it will be “greater than every other tour combined.”
All I want to know is how many people bought the album? All that other sh#t is fake.
I promise you some of her fans bought multiple just because
real sales for sure
Are you retarded? Streaming had to be included in sales figures since it decreased sales from 785 million in 2000 to just 241 million in 2015.
Dec 12, 2016Streaming has been part of SALES FIGURES for certification since 2016.
One album sale equals 10 track sales, or 1,500 song streams.
After Spotify launched 2011, March 2012, Billboard added streaming services to the formula of its Hot 100 chart.
BECAUSE STREAMING REPLACED LISTENING TO THE RADIO, DUH.
And HAHAHAHAHAHA:
“Nicki only has sales because her fans buy the albums”.
Nothing is real anymore! It’s all bought and paid for. That’s why a ” record ” is broken every other day. It’s a lawless nation. NO TRUTH – NO INTEGRITY!
A track ”beep beep” fucken new york city that was my bit fuck you all
Lies. That album has no buzz…. CAP for sure….
Lol her and Drake release trash but they still made number one and broke records. Yeah, we’re not dumb. We can see how staged this all is.
Yes you absolutely ARE dumb if you think “this” is all staged and the record companies continue to stay in business and spend all that money for no revenue.
Not dumb. HIlariously stupid.
Music in general is absolutely horrible today. I can’t listen to the radio all day anymore. Music from the 60’s through early 00’s was straight banging. What happened to real music?
People can try to talk bad about her album but belcalis hasn’t put out a solo project yet…and still is lieing about when it’s coming out nicki don’t owe yall nothing but go listen to cardi old ass songs
Drake and Nikki love that stream farming huh?
It is a decent album. By today’s standards its quite impressive
