Nick Cannon Says Decision To Have More Children Is Not His To Make

Nick Cannon hasn’t ruled out the possibility that he will expand his already large blended family, but says ultimately the decision isn’t his to make.

The father of 12 recently welcomed Entertainment Tonight‘s Kevin Frazier to his Hollywood offices, where he has a nursery large enough to fit his entire brood, which ranges in ages from 11 years to 2 months.

With the size of his family being a constant topic of conversation over the last few years — especially due to the proximity in age of his younger children and the number of women with whom he’s welcomed them — Cannon said that he’s not necessarily trying to grow that number. But the answer to whether he will isn’t a hard “no” either.

“God decides when we’re done [laughs] but I believe I definitely got my hands full,” he told Frazier. “And I’m so focused. I’m locked in. But when I’m 85, you never know. I might.”

As for how difficult it has been for him to spend time with his kids, who he shares with a total of six different mothers, the multi-media mogul said that it’s not as hard as people on the outside might think.

“Everybody thinks it’s time management. It’s energy management,” he told ET. “[Because] once we’re all aligned, the flow is a lot easier. If there’s any kind of low frequencies or dissension in there that’s what messes up the scheduling.

“As long as we’re all on the same page and we all got the same goal — to be the best parents we could possibly be — that works and then the scheduling is the scheduling.”

That scheduling became slightly more complicated in 2022 as Nick Cannon welcomed five children from five different mothers into the world.

On December 29, Alyssa Scott took to Instagram to share a video documenting the birth of Cannon’s latest bundle of joy, who was born on December 14. It shows Cannon in the delivery room patiently waiting for Halo Marie to arrive, and it’s not too long before she is put in his arms, after which he exclaims: “It’s a girl!”

Scott first announced she was pregnant with Cannon’s 12th child in October. The model has a four-year-old from a previous relationship, while she and Cannon welcomed a baby boy named Zen in 2021. Sadly, Zen passed away at just five months old that December.

In July 2022, model Bre Tiesi confirmed she had given birth to his eighth child, a son named Legendary Love. Then on September 14 he announced the birth of daughter Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, his first child with model Lanisha Cole.

Nine days after Onyx was born, Cannon announced the birth of his 10th child and his third with model Brittany Bell on September 23. He and another of his partners, Abby de la Rosa, the mother of his twins born in 2021, then welcomed Zeppelin Cannon on November 11.

He also shares 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

    1. If he’s there for the kids, that’s all that matters at the end of the day. Mariah all salty now bc he’s out here building a nation, talking about “I want full custody now.”

      1. How can he possibly be there for the kids and present in their lives? There is literally not enough time in the day to spend quality time with each of these kids given that they all live in different places AND he works as much as he does.

    2. We luv you Nick! You a model father, businessman and philanthropist all rolled into one. You and the beautiful queens who brought life to your growing family must continue to building them up to build a nation. Stay up!

    3. Anybody talkin slick bout the wonderful deeds this man done simply salty and hatin’. From women talkin smack, jealous coz they see Nick ladies gettin took care of by they man better than they own man, to dude that can’t get on his level with dough, star power and muscle to provide for the ladies and take care of his family. Hatin’ bad for ya. Y’all shud check yo’self.
