NBA YoungBoy has taken a moment to shout out Young Thug on a brand new track, as well as his late friend Big Dump, who was murdered back in 2018.
Over a backdrop of emotional piano keys, “Letter To Big Dump” hears YoungBoy deliver some of his signature melodic crooning, as he prays for Thug’s release following his arrest in the highly publicized YSL RICO case earlier this year.

“Oh, I’m slime, I pray for Thug askin’ God one more time/ If you ain’t had once, we all deserve a second chance to shine/ Motherfuck that jury, I send a million dollars right now to shine/ That’s if you need me, ’cause I know one day, I’ma need you, n-gga,” YoungBoy raps.
As for Big Dump, YoungBoy alludes to a conversation he had with the person responsible for Dump’s murder prior to his death: “I had a conversation with the man who contracted your life to be gone/ I hope you see my progress and glad I’m movin’ on, I’m grown.”
Big Dump was shot and killed in a 2018 drive-by that was allegedly meant for NBA YoungBoy. This isn’t the first time the Baton Rouge rapper has attributed a song to his late friend, he previously dedicated the song “RIP Dump” to him, which was included in the 2018 project 4 Loyalty.
The new track is in line with YoungBoy’s recent anti-violence stance he took earlier this month on the eight-minute song “This For My Supporters.” He made good on this promise by squashing his long-held beef with Fredo Bang, and collaborated with the fellow Baton Rouge rapper on a new mixtape called Lost Files.

As YoungBoy continues on his quest to find peace, he wrote on his Instagram Story on Wednesday (December 28) that he plans to move his entire family to Europe once he’s able to put everything behind him.
“We got to stay prayed up I really want to move Europe with my family once all of this put behind me,” he wrote. “I’m stacking money until then!!”

NBA YoungBoy still admittedly has a lot to put behind him, including some newfound issues with Bobby Shmurda, which started a few weeks ago when they began sparring online over comments Rowdy Rebel had made about Quando Rondo affiliate Lul Tim, who has been accused of killing King Von in November 2020.
“When King Von died, that Lul Tim n-gga, he didn’t have to get out of the car and start squeezing right away,” Rowdy said during an interview with Math Hoffa. “How much hate you have already to kill this man? You had the upper hand … but you already chose the murder route.”

While YoungBoy pushed back on Rebel’s claims and supported Lul Tim and Quando Rondo’s camp, Shmurda joined in the discussion and dissed both NBA YoungBoy and Quando Rondo on Instagram Live.
YoungBoy and Shmurda then began trading vicious jabs on social media. Tensions hit a boiling point when Shmurda claimed he was ready to “boom” the Top rapper, along with Wack 100 and DJ Akademiks.
While tensions fizzled for a moment, on December 23, YoungBoy reignited his beef with Shmurda on the third episode of his YoungBoy Never Broke Again radio show on Amazon’s App platform. During the episode, Blueface made an appearance and asked the Baton Rouge rapper about his apparent beef with the New York rapper.
“You ain’t even strong enough to do this with me, bruh,” YB said about the Brooklyn rapper. “I’ma stay out your way, bruh. I’m going to stay the fuck out of your way.”

Feuds aside, YoungBoy also had a lot of reasons to celebrate in 2022. Lost Files, marks his eighth full-length release of 2022 and the follow-up to October’s Ma’ I Got a Family. The rapper was at one point flirting with the idea of dropping 10 mixtapes this year, before admitting last month he “ran out of rhymes.”
