‘NBA 2K22’ To Feature A Hip Hop Career Option

As the NBA season comes to a close, popular video game franchise NBA 2K has begun the rollout for its upcoming game. NBA 2K unveiled their cover athletes for NBA 2K22 with five different versions, and now the creators of the game are announcing more big news.

On Friday (July 23), NBA 2K revealed the next game’s career mode, The City, will see a whole new bunch of features added. The focus is on the expansive role-playing mechanics, which includes the chance for players to chase a side career to complement their NBA dreams.

According to a report by ScreenRant, one of those side careers players will be able to choose from is a rapper. Basketball and Hip Hop go hand in hand, and rappers and ball players love crossing over into each other’s worlds. It’s unclear how the Hip Hop side career will play out in the new game, but the level of success players have with it will impact their roles in The City.

Fans of NBA 2K have voiced their frustrations with the lack of change with the game over the last few years, and the company has tried to meet their needs. Hopefully, the new side careers can add some spice to the annual basketball video game.

In February, NBA 2K and United Masters kicked off the second season of their music competition called 2K Beats: The Search, where artists all over the world submit their music for a chance to be featured in NBA 2K21’s next-generation soundtrack.

United Masters & NBA 2K Announce 1st 10 Winners Of ‘2K Beats: The Search’ Competition

The winners of season two included Delly Everyday, Caleb Isaiah, Scotty Valid, Jupiter Ki, Zane Smith, Kayo Porter, Smoovebeendidit, Skippa Da Flippa, 10k.Caash and A1 Illa.

    1. The main thing they need to change is the ridiculous point swings. The CPU goes on ridiculous runs, and you can just feel when it’s already decided that you’re gonna lose, or win. It feels like you’re just a passenger on the CPU’s roller coaster ride. You either lose by 30 or win by 30.

    2. I’m good off this I rather play Double Dribble and listen to Pubic Enemy to combat inequality.

    3. Just make a fun basketball game to play instead of making gamers do streetfighter combos to make a layup or dunk. I want a game that rewards basketball knowledge instead of memorizing button combos and complicated stick patterns.

      1. Well get schooled on this……if you don’t want to memorize button combos and complicated stick patterns instead of complaining you should get your butt up and play some actual ball! Thumbs might need a rest and the game might not really challenge your brain the way it should be.

        1. the thing is if you’re a nerd who’s great at all kinds of combos and whatever that doesn’t mean you know anything about basketball or that you have a greater understanding of basketball than someone who doesn’t want to learn some nonsense to play a video game. I don’t take my life cheap. In the amount of time these people want you to spend learning their nonsense you can actually take a real college level course and graduate with a real certificate that can get you season tickets to any real NBA team. Times have changed since 2002.

        2. The game is just poorly designed. It’s great when a difficult game is fun to learn. You have no problem setting aside a week or two to learn and get better. 2K is just a waste of time. Nerds got in their head that flashy button combos was the same as learning to dunk or dribble. Nah. It’s not. A certain amount of combos and stick work is just part of game play. The rest of it just seems like nerds want to prove a point. There’s no correlation between video game skill and basketball knowledge or even fun. The more complicated the game, the less fun it is to play and there are people who like not having fun if it means they are better than others.

    4. This game been dead..I saw someone talking about the cpu..who wants to play the computer all day?…please fix the online gameplay that lame ass my league is garbage. These guys focused so much on my player that this shit is turning into nba jams now..I been in 2k since Allen Iverson was on the cover..after you guys killed nba live you got lazy. I don’t mind the difficult sticks that’s nothing just work on the online play I like playing real players from around the world..
