Nas, A$AP Ferg & Fivio Foreign Burn Up NYC Shooting ‘Spicy’ Video

Nas took over Washington Heights in NYC Saturday (September 19) along with Fivio Foreign and A$AP Ferg for the “Spicy” video shoot.

Presumed to be the next single from the Queensbridge rapper’s recently released King’s Disease album, the trio were joined by fellow New Yorkers rocking masks and thoroughly enjoying being part of the moment. Even longtime friend and fellow Firm member AZ made an appearance.

“Nut crackers and Puré up in the Heights wit my Dominican brothers” #186 #Spicy @asapferg @fivioforeign_8fs #kingsdisease,” Nas wrote on Instagram Sunday (September 20).

The finished product would mark the second video to be released from Nas’ thirteenth studio effort, following “Ultra Black.”

Black Thought Explains Overdue Nas Collab While Naming The Roots' Biggest Hip Hop Influence

While the “Spicy” collaboration has been lauded by fans, another Nas collab is earning high praise as well.

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Black Thought recalled how he and Nas managed to team up along with Public Enemy, YG, Questlove, Enemy Radio’s Jahi and Rapsody for “Fight The Power 2020.”

“When I was tapped to jump on that record with people who I already had a relationship with like Chuck and Rapsody, as well Nas — who I’ve always wanted to jump on a record with, but he and I have only gotten to share the stage — it was an opportunity,” Thought said. “It was the same thing with YG. We’ve gotten to perform live together, but it was my first opportunity to jump on a record with him.”

        1. How? How is this album ‘bananas’? Man I listened to this album so many times TRYING to like it, as a Nas fan, and it’s just weak “. He’s stumbling over his lyrics on every song, it has no vibe, no direction, the features are terrible including the Firm song, the beats are hit and miss, mostly miss. It’s just NOT good, and the worst part is Nas KNOWS it’s not good, but he knows you can put out anything with the right marketing and these numbskull rap fans will say “it’s a classic!!, the goat!, the king!”.

    1. That album sucks. And I’m a lifelong Nas fan since 94. But I gotta call it what it is. That album is straight up weak. I can’t believe people praised it the way they did. I don’t think people really know what they like anymore. Now he’s riding these other weak rappers coat tails for a single? Naaah.

        1. I’m not on that “you gotta pick either Nas or Jay-Z” garbage. I’m an adult and this isn’t WWF wrestling. If something is dope, I say it’s dope. If it’s weak, I say it’s weak. I don’t have an ‘allegiance’ to any rapper. Jay-Z and Nas are both dope MCs who have both made good albums and not so good ones. For the record, Nas was always one of my favorite MC since the days when most of you were just a sting in your dad’s scrotum. But I don’t just praise anything or denounce anything blindly. I actually LISTEN and absorb it. She after several listens of Nas’s album, I have to say, as a HIPHOP LIFER, the album is boring and weak.

            1. Aren’t we all just critics? At least I’m a critic who actually understands what I’m listening to and not just an unabashed sack licker like you. “The goat? The legend! The God!”….you guys sound like 10 year old kids at a wrestling event. That album is ass. When your eyes clear from the glitter and glitz surrounding it, you’ll come back around and realize it’s weak when it sits in your shelf for 4 years without a spin. Oh, wait, you didn’t even buy it. You listened to it once and praised it because everyone else did. Hiphop geeks. And Yes, I’m a local MC. I’m a participant in hiphop for 30 years. What about you?

    2. Nas really is the G.O.A.T. While His new album rightly deserves the praise it gets, I believe that it could be some of his best work to date

      1. Then how does it deserve praise? I don’t get you new school dudes. It’s OK to say something is wack. They’re not gonna throw you in hiphop jail for it.

    3. This album is dope ! To the ones that want to stay stuck in 94 , this album is not for you !Nas is bridging the gap without losing himself! The ones listening to it saying “it’s weak“, are delusional ! I’ve been a Nas fan since “Halftime”came out in 92! Nas can spit facts and still have fun making singles with ASAP Ferg and aficionados! I don’t get you dudes! One minute y’all saying his beat selection sucks then he drops his best since Life is Good and some of y’all still not satisfied! Nas can drop an album with Dj premier and some y’all will be like it’s too late should of done it years ago! Smh!

      1. ur right my guy. the haters will never be satisfied. Nas has always been the type to drop knowledge but he can also step back and have a lil fun wit it. You Owe Me, Oochie Wally, Hate Me Now, Made You Look…I actually think Nas is done pandering to the old heads and im all for it. Its 2020!!

    4. Perfect addition to the catalog. Listened to the whole album while building my daughters bunk bed. Enjoyed the entire album. No cherry picking listen to it straight through.
