MF DOOM and Madlib fans have been treated to new collaboration as part of an upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of the former’s classic album Mm..Food.
The duo, who famously joined forces for Madvillainy which also dropped in 2004, have reunited on a remix of “One Beer,” which was released on Tuesday (October 8).

On the new version, the Beat Konducta strips the original fan-favorite cut (which he also produced) of its soulful flourishes, instead brewing a thumping, dusty groove that leaves plenty of room for DOOM’s inebriated verses to shine.

The 20th anniversary edition of Mm..Food is set to be released on November 15 via Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Madlib’s “One Beer (Remix)” is one of several new tracks included on the reissue, with “Hoe Cakes” also receiving sonic makovers from fellow frequent DOOM collaborator Jake One and Atmosphere’s Ant.
There are also a number of previously unheard interview clips from the late rapper featuring titles such as “The Evolution From Zev Love X to MF DOOM,” “Being Embraced by a Diverse Fanbase” and “Conquering Writer’s Block.”
A deluxe edition vinyl is also being released, containing a bonus 7-inch picture disc featuring the rare original version of “Kookies” and a Just Blaze remix.

Further differentiating it from the original album, the 20th anniversary reissue will feature new artwork courtesy of Sam Rodriguez.
Fans will also be able to get their hands on exclusive merchandise for the reissue, including an MF DOOM action figure and cereal bowl set. All items are available to pre-order on Gas Drawls.
The reissue will arrive shortly after an authorized biography on DOOM hits shelves on October 29.
Written by veteran music journalist S.H. Fernando Jr. and published by Astra House, The Chronicles of DOOM: Unraveling Rap’s Masked Iconoclast is described as “a sweeping and definitive biography” that will “recount the rise, fall, redemption and untimely demise of one of Hip Hop’s most enigmatic and influential figures.”

Astra House senior editor Danny Vazquez said of the book: “[MF DOOM]’s story has been recounted endlessly on the internet,” he said. “Amateur music historians have tried, and failed, time and time again, to tell his complete story.
“S.H. Fernando is here to tell that story — from KMD to Adult Swim to the villain’s final chapter escaping death in the public eye for two whole months before it was announced in the most sensational fashion on New Year’s Eve 2020.”
