Metro Boomin has revealed that he is working on Young Thug‘s new album while appearing to deny that he was involved in a boating accident.

According to Local10, the producer was renting a yacht in Miami this past weekend and was forced to evacuate after it became engulfed in flames.

The yacht was docked outside of a strip club when it caught fire in the early hours of Sunday morning (January 19). However, there were no reported injuries among the boat’s 15 passengers and crew.

Metro has now seemingly addressed the incident on his Instagram Stories, writing: “Don’t believe everything you see online. Clout got the world in a chokehold.”

He then teased more collaborations between himself and Thugger, adding: “Back to working on @thuggerthugger1 album.”

This is the first official word that Young Thug is working on a new album since he was released from jail in October after agreeing a plea deal in his long-running YSL RICO case.

The Atlanta rapper’s last effort, Business Is Business (which was executive produced by Metro Boomin), arrived in the summer of 2023 during his incarceration.

However, Lil Baby recently suggested that he, Thugger and Future were combining for a joint project.

Speaking on Spotify’s A Day in the Life series, Baby explained: “Me and Future were working on a joint tape. We damn near got the joint tape done. And now Slime came home, you know he ain’t goin’ for that. He was like ‘Shiiit.’

“It was actually Thug’s idea. When he was in jail, he was like, ‘Aye, call Pluto. I want y’all to do a tape together.’ He damn near named the tape and everything — this was before he got out.

The 4PF frontman continued: “Now that he got out, he’s like, ‘I’m on on the tape’ [laughs]. We might have something big in store on that […] Thug is a lab rat. all he do is stay in the studio. We’ve already made 10 songs together.”

Young Thug’s first (and so far only) release since getting out of jail came earlier this month on “Dum, Dumb & Dumber,” a collaboration with Future and Baby taken from the latter’s latest album WHAM.

He unsurprisingly used the track to reference his lengthy time spent behind bars, rapping: “Yeah, n-gga, King Spider back / I don’t even believe I was locked up, for real, for real / I was havin’ my way the whole time, fool, you know what I’m sayin’?”
