Method Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Ghostface Killah & U-God’s Kids Bar Up On ‘Hereditary’ Album With Inspectah Deck

Wu-Tang Clan has already established a Hip Hop legacy that will long outlast their respective lifetimes. With millions of albums sold and the respect of both their predecessors and successors, Method Man, RZA, GZA, Ghostface Killah, Cappadonna, Raekwon, the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Masta Killa and U-God have set a precedent for countless aspiring Hip Hop acts — including some of their kids.

On Thursday (January 14), 2nd Generation Wu — comprised of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son Young Dirty Bastard, Meth’s son PXWER, Ghostface Killah’s son Sun God and U-God’s son iNTeLL — released a surprise album called Hereditary, a nod to their familial ties.

Boasting 12 tracks and three bonus cuts, the Dock Street Records project features Wu-Tang legend Inspectah Deck, S.I.T.H. and Zeph McFly, among others. The album follows the singles “7.O.D,” “New Generation” featuring Meth, “Soothe The Soul” and “Legacy Drip.”

Interview: YDB Pinpoints Biggest Misconception About His Father Ol' Dirty Bastard

“This body of work is a culmination of a vision I had 16 years ago,” iNTeLL tells HipHopDX. “The world embraced us and supported us through the pandemic, which we greatly appreciate. One year after our debut single, we give you our debut album Hereditary, something I’m very proud to deliver to the true listeners. Always know we love y’all, keep your ears open for more and Wu-Tang is for the children and the children’s children.”

During a June 2020 interview with MC Serch’s Serch Says Podcast, Method Man talked about how overlooked Deck often is, saying, “To me, Inspectah Deck is one of the most underrated MCs of all time. I think a lot of the appeal to Deck is … remember back in the days, before videos, and you heard an MC? You never knew what they looked like, all you could focus on was the words.

“I think if Deck came in that era right there where all they could focus on was the words and not the spectacle of what’s going on around him, he would have blew up much more than he did.”
