Meek Mill Honors Holocaust Victims By Attending Poland March

Meek Mill has honored the victims of the Holocaust by walking three kilometers in Poland alongside New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

TMZ reported that the “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper joined Kraft and several others to walk three kilometers outside of the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex on Tuesday (April 18). The complex was the largest Nazi concentration camp during World War II, where at least 1.3 million people were killed from 1940 to 1945.

Kraft, who is also the founder of the non-profit group Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, also lit one of the six torches to commemorate the six million people killed during the Holocaust.

Meek Mill and Robert Kraft have worked together since at least 2019, when Kraft joined Meek and JAY-Z in their campaign for criminal justice reform.

While the Philadelphia native will always be known for his music, social justice matters have taken center stage for him as of late.

On April 13, Meek Mill took to Twitter to express his outrage at the sentencing of Larry Pearson, who was recently sentenced to 70 years in prison. Pearson was arrested last May after a person accused him of domestic violence. The victim told responding officers that Pearson had allegedly hit her multiple times and that he was in possession of a firearm. Prosecutor Jessica Gorman noted in the trial that the gun later turned out to be an airsoft gun, and the victim had “multiple visible injuries” at the time of the incident.

Pearson was taken into custody, where he became agitated and started kicking the doors of the police cruiser. When officers told him to stop, he allegedly spat at both of them and continued to do so when he arrived at the Lubbock County Detention Center.

Pearson was found guilty on Thursday (April 13) of two counts of harassment of a public servant. Gorman asked the jury to “send a message” to Pearson with his sentencing, adding he had previous convictions of continuous family violence and aggravated robbery. While facing a minimum sentence of 25 years, a judge sentenced him to 70 years.

“If you’re going to live the life of crime, you’re going to do that among other criminals [in prison],” said Gorman. “You’re not going to get 70 years for something like this when you’ve never been in trouble before.”

In response, Meek Mill said there’s no just cause for a man to be sentenced to 70 years for spitting.

“Nah this action level!!!!!” he tweeted. “Ain’t no way they can give us that much time for a misdemeanor like spitting… ion care what they gone try to say his record is! No regard for black life in that courtroom.”

    1. On this one I gotta Salute Meek. He walk it like he talk it. Put his money where his mouth is and Manned up for his compardrè Bob who asked him to honor his folks as a return favor. Conspiracy theories aside this was good business

      1. Agreed. We should be able to stand up and support each other, especially in these times. Strength in numbers, bc at the end of the day, every minority, culture, background that is supportive of life, for the wellness of the next being regardless of race, group, gender, identity, will overcome the true oppressors that hunt and attack in times of separation.

      2. The separation of humans will never cease to exist, considering mixing cultures has shown to lead to failing nations time and time again. Sorry, but when you mix hard-core devote Muslims who believe they need to kill non believers, which many state openly in public, with people who aren’t Muslims, you then have violence. Mixing cultures doesn’t work. And to call Jewish people oppressed is quite hilarious. They make up a small percentage of each nation aside some in the middle east, and somehow also find themselves in the top 10% power wise and economic wise in every nation they reside in. To suggest Jewish people are oppressed today is laughable. They ARE the oppressors (not jews as a whole. Most Jewish people are just normal people, as goes for any race, religion, gender, ideology, etc, most people on earth are GOOD). And hell, if you look into the true history, Russia killed just as many polish people as Germany. But since Germany lost, Poland decided to align with the winners so they could benefit the most.

      3. I’m Jewish. And you’re entitled to your opinion, even if I disagree with it. However, it is in extremely poor taste to drive home the point that Jews are oppressors in the comment section of an article that highlights Remembering the Holocaust. It’s a disgrace to write what you wrote here. Take it somewhere else please. Thanks.
