MAVI is having a huge year so far, thanks to his sophomore album Laughing So Hard It Hurts. Released in October, the album comes with 16 tracks and only one feature from Amindi. Critics also lauded the album upon release, placing it on several best albums of 2022 lists, including The New York Times, NPR, Vulture and more.

MAVI’s breakthrough also landed him connections with The Alchemist and an opening spot on tour with Jack Harlow. He also racked up millions of streams independently, which have culminated in his massive fan base of four million-plus Spotify monthly listeners. However, one of MAVI’s biggest achievements comes from his 2022 HipHopDX Awards nomination.
