Punchline announced his departure from eMC yesterday (October 20). Masta Ace, Wordsworth and Stricklin will move forward with eMC as a trio.
“He’s a talented dude and we wish Punch the best,” Masta Ace says today (October 21) during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “It was clear Punch just wasn’t on the same page as the three of us. This was the only decision that could be made. There is no animosity between us and we wish Punch all the best as he moves forward with his career.”
Masta Ace, Wordsworth and Stricklin are slated to start their Greenroom Tour this week in Germany. Other stops on the jaunt are England, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland and Austria.
eMC is scheduled to release its The Tonite Show album through Penalty Entertainment this winter, according to Masta Ace.
The group released its The Turning Point EP in May. The collection earned four out of five Xs in its HipHopDX review. “The Turning Point is very good,” Homer Johnsen said in his review of The Turning Point. “For an EP, six tracks and skits make for a generous listen.”

Other then Masta Ace…. we don’t know any of theeeeeem…
They’re actually pretty unknown. Don’t get all high and mighty because you know some obscure underground rappers from the 90s who someone else doesn’t.
Apart from the feature on the Black Star album, they definitely are not well known.
i dont know what type of hip hop u listen to, otherwise you lost if you dont know the others, totally lost

Spoken like a true cornball
Someone need to knock y’all wikipedia ass niggas off your high horses
Acting like you should get a prize for knowing everything about these dudes lives smh
These guys are not well known in any sense of the word, Ace is one of the more obscure members of the Juice Crew, a group whose biggest artist only went gold. It’s unlikely that Ace is on anyone’s radar in 2014, and definitely not the other 3
If you don’t know the rest of them then you are a student of the rap game. Wordsworth is one of the best to ever do it. MTV’s The Lyricist Lounge Show? Punch’nWords? Strick was killing it on the mixtape circuit wayyy back in the day. All very talented guys. Punch will do fine and eMC as it stands with thrive.
Josh he’s not a student, he’s a exchange student
^^ Ace is an obscure member of the Juice Crew? Ever heard “The Symphony”? Since your corny ass is all about record sales and popularity, shouldn’t you know Ace from when “Born To Roll” dropped? Your argument is garbage, you are just an idiot. Oh not to mention A Tribe Called Quest dropped “The Love Movement” and that went gold. Guess who was on there? Punch n Words. Keep revising history and calling mc’s unknown just because your ignorant ass doesn’t know the history.
Dag, this is news to me. But if you listen to the skits, (where they was trying to track down Punch) It was almost like it was pre-determined. Like this is whut was really happening. eMc will thrive. Im a fan of the collective but we will be able to tell that sumthins missing. Kinda like watching the A-Team and Face no longer being part of the team. Well see whut happens from here
how wack this decision is to me is unbelievable.. very very cheap move and i wouldn’t be surprised if this is just for a bit of a publicity stunt. stricklin and words should take a stand for this and not be quiet sheep. Masta ace always had a wack move in his career going on but this tops them all.
Huh?
Hellbound
Masta Ace hahaa that’s my nigga right there, been fucking with his music since the symphony days
By the way, wasn’t he selling tires???
If you don’t know Masta Ace and the other members of EMC you are a rap fan. If you know them then you are a Hip-Hop fan. It’s just that simple.
