Ma$e has surprisingly shown love to Diddy as he awaits trial for sex trafficking charges, despite their well-documented issues.

After previously mocking Puffy’s legal problems, the former Bad Boy rapper spoke about the topic in some depth for the first time on his sports talk show It Is What It Is on Monday (March 17).

The subject was brought up by his co-host Cam’ron, who mentioned rumors that Ma$e had a tense encounter with Diddy’s son Christian Combs at the funeral of Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace last week.

“I think we looked at each other but I don’t think he saw me. I would have said what’s up,” Ma$e replied.

The Harlem World hitmaker then revealed that he’s open to visiting his former label boss in jail.

“I mean, if my name was on the list, I’d go visit Puff,” he said. “I would visit him, make sure he was good. These are the times when you need people to check up and make sure you’re good.

“Not that I condone any thing that he allegedly did. Until they prove it, you want to make sure that you don’t be like one of those people that [condemns] somebody [who] did good for you. He didn’t do all bad, he did some good. He definitely did some good.”

Ma$e added: “I ain’t talking about the tape stuff and all of that; I’m talking about just the musical side, giving me an opportunity. I think as a person of class you definitely got to show up and sit somewhere in the court if they let you.”

Cam then put Murda in the hot seat and asked if he thinks Diddy is innocent, to which he replied: “I don’t know.”

Ma$e just recently appeared to troll Diddy by announcing that he would be dropping his first album in more than 20 years to coincide with the beginning of the mogul’s trial.

Asked by It Is What It Is guest co-host Maurice Clarett when fans can expect his new project to arrive, the Harlem native replied with a smirk: “May 25th. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping. You like that? You made me put it out there.”

He then revealed that the album will be a triple-disc effort and said: “Now we even.”

It’s worth noting that Diddy’s trial was originally scheduled to begin on May 5, not May 25, but has since been delayed after the disgraced record executive pleaded not guilty to additional allegations in a superseding indictment.

It’s unclear if Ma$e will adjust his album release date to coincide with the actual start of the trial or move ahead with the May release.
