Madlib Unveils Another Unreleased Mac Miller Song

Madlib performed at MoMa PS1 in Queens alongside his Bandana collaborator Freddie Gibbs, Pardison Fontaine and others over the weekend. As part of his set, the veteran producer unveiled an unreleased collaboration with the late Mac Miller much to the delight of his audience.

“I’m doing EP’s in one day/Sober right now but I’ll be back by Sunday,” Miller spits at the top of the first verse.

Although it’s unclear where exactly the song originates, it’s possible it comes from Maclib, Miller’s nearly mythical joint EP with Madlib.

In February, Thelonious Martin appeared to let the cat out of the bag during an interview with DJ Booth.

“So I’m trying to focus and DJ, and Madlib gets on and 15 minutes into his set he just randomly plays a Mac Miller joint,” Martin said. “And I turn to him, I’m like, ‘There’s more of these, right?’ He’s said, ‘Oh, yeah, there’s a whole album. Maclib.

“What! What! He just kept moving on with his DJ set. If Madlib decides to bless the world with that project, he should.”

This is the second Miller collaboration Madlib has teased this year. In March, he played a snippet of a track featuring the Pittsburgh-bred artist and his good friend Thundercat during a set at Music Box in San Diego.

Miller died on September 7, 2018 from a drug overdose, sending shockwaves through the Hip Hop community. He was 26.

    1. Madlib – Stop teasing dude – irrespective of not being a fan of Miller (only really know the odd track by him), anything blessed by Madlibs legendary production needs to be heard by the real hip hop heads…

        1. Wait a sec… you mean to tell me Madlib can only put out music written with other artists, of the artists allow him to do so, unless there was a contract in place? Captain. Fucking. Obvious. LOL. This Andy C84 fucker seems a bit slow, but still, that’s laying it on there a bit heavy, no? LOL

          1. You seem like a bit of a dick rider no? “Wow sees”!? You have to be the gayest whitest dude ever. We get it you want to fuck AndyC84

        1. Says the guy in the comment section of a HIPHOP website.. You a real live bitch just looking for some online attention. We get it bro your life is sad.

    2. That track is FIRE! Lots of cats slept on Max, and hopped on the D once homie passed. He could spit. I hope this shit sees the light of day. I’m sure it will, there is too much $$$ up for grabs for it not to.

    3. I hope Mac Miller’s soul is in a safe place. However, lets be honest, he was an average rapper. He wasn’t a Lupe Fiasco or a Black Thought, dude was just an average white rapper with fame. Lets stop getting excited as if Madvillainy 2 is dropping this year.

      1. What the fuck does your opinion on his lyrical skill have to do with the respect and love he receives? What the fuck does his skin color have to do with any potential anticipation for more music? What the fuck is your point? You don’t think he’s good enough for other people to miss him this much?..What the fu…

      2. Dude. Miller was a great rapper. Period. He came out of Pittsburg putting his own shit out, like Wiz did. You might not like his shit, but whatever. Lupe fiasco sucks HUGE donkey balls. He is a fake woke rapper that basically copied KRS>common>Twadweeb and all the other hypocrite moron fake woke idiots. Light up some incense and finger your butthole to some garbage ass Arrested Development/P.M. Dawn sounding shit. Eat a sick for the “white rapper” comment too. At least he knew who his dad was.

    4. Mac Miller was average.
God bless the dead, but dude wasn’t a Lupe Fiasco or a Black Thought.

      1. Post it a third time in case we ddnt read it the first two times dipshit. We get it.. Mac Miller wasn’t black enough for you to respect him. Mac’s newer releases shit all over Lupe Fiasco. Black thought is a lyrical beast but him and Mac had different styles. I don’t get what you are trying to prove here. Mac was well respected especially in the rap community. Even by older heads like Sean Price and obviously Madlib. If he wasn’t your favorite fine.. keep pushing and go ride dick somewhere else.

    5. Mac Miller went from playing in the NBA to having platinum records. Say what you will about mumble rap but Mac is a living legend.
