Lupe Fiasco is currently doing the promo rounds for his upcoming album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, releasing September 25th. During an interview with HHS1987, the Chicago, Illinois native said that the double-disc album will tout American themes and that the second disc will be more “musically experimental” than the first.
“There’s the concepts, using America as a concept, using the American agenda, politics, society – whatever. Americana. And that’s half and half of that, and that’s the album,” he explained. “There’s definitely a different sound on each album. We did all the songs in one pop. The second album is probably a little bit more musically experimental than the first one, but the content – I hesitate to say that, because it might just be one song, two songs – but the content is the same throughout the album. It’s the American experience in a Rap album.”

Don’t like the sound of “musically experimental”.
If everybodies opinion was like that we wouldn’t have Hip Hop….
Nah, we wouldn’t have “Electric Circus,” and I’m totally cool with that bruh bruh.
My point is still valid brah brah
oh no wonder he talking shit another wack album about to drop
please no electronic crap. it’s great youre a DJ and youre in a punk band and all, but please just give us a real hip hop sounding album.
You guys are missing the part where he said “The Second Disc”. If the project is 2 discs, and one is more standard and the other is more experimental then I have no problem with that. Besides, “experimental” is not synonymous with “Electronic”.
Wack !

faggot
AKA musical garbage
I’ve definitely heard some good music by Lupe. But I feel he falls in the same category as common, talib kweli, and several other afrocentric artists. They do a better job of presenting themselves as great artist. Than artist who make great music. Commons album be was the shit though.
Also guys keep in mind that he’s only talking about disc 2 and that he said this:
” I hesitate to say that, because it might just be one song, two songs ”
So it might not be that many “experimental” tracks altogether.
F&L was hot. And I love Lupe…but this nigga looks and sounds like he’s losing it. And what’s with the album title?? It’s a sequel album called part 1!?
It’s a double album, The Great American Rap Album Part 1 & 2.
Thanks for picking up my interview video adn posting it on your website. I truly appreciate it
Disc 2 is gonna be a sonic abortion. I’ve lost faith in this man.
