Remy Ma is reportedly being investigated by the NYPD for an alleged assault on Love & Hip Hop: New York star Brittney Taylor. According to Page Six, Taylor told police Remy punched her in the right eye at about 9:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday (April 16) at Irving Plaza.
Remy was at the venue to perform at the “Pretty Lou Benefit Concert.”
Taylor addressed the incident in an Instagram post and questioned Remy’s actions.
“So, here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night. I didn’t wanna bring it to social media because Its pretty embarrassing and not a good look tbh.
“I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn’t work. My Question is @remyma why did you really do this? #WHATHAPPENEDTOWOMANEMPOWERMENT #BlackLove? Smh.”
Law enforcement sources confirmed Remy hasn’t been arrested or charged with a crime. Shortly after the alleged incident, Taylor was treated at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Love & Hip Hop co-stars have had issues in the past but in an interview with HipHopDX, Taylor was adamant she didn’t want to get involved in the drama.
“Sometimes you’ve gotta switch things up,” she said in January. “And that’s really what I’m down to do. Of course, a little competition behind the mic is always necessary [in Hip Hop].
“But when you get too vicious, it’s not good. And when labels come to my door after they listen to the tape — and they see my team, especially the women on my team — they’re gonna see that we’re focusing on getting rich. Not all the rest of the nonsense.”
Remy has yet to respond to the allegations publicly.
