Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot, 7 Foot” Video Hits The Internet, MTV Premiere Tonight

Hip Hop superstar Lil Wayne has returned from prison with his popularity and mass appeal maintained. In addition to rocking the sports community last week with the now Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers anthem “Green & Yellow” , the Cash Money Records emcee continues to score radio success and iTunes single sales with his “6 Foot 7 Foot” (f/k/a “6’7”) single, featuring Young Money’s Cory Gunz.

On Thursday February 10 at 8pm EST, Lil Wayne will conduct his first live televised music interview with MTV’s Sway Calloway. Called MTV First: Lil Wayne, the show will feature the acclaimed radio/television host asking Wayne about his prison and post-prison experiences, and upcoming album, Tha Carter IV. Fans of the multi-platinum rapper are about to submit questions for Sway to ask, by submitting them to MTV News’ Twitter (@MTVNews) with the hash-tag of #AskWeezy.

Following Sway’s 30-minute interview with Wayne, and 20 minutes of fan-submitted questions, the music network will premiere the Hype Williams-directed video for “6 Foot, Seven Foot.”

Last Friday, Wayne appeared on ESPN for a live interview about his sports predictions and lessons learned from prison.

    1. Stop Hating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday at 8 p.m. ET MTV and MTV.com will air “MTV First: Lil Wayne,” a video-premiere event during which fans can see out the debut of the “6 Foot 7 Foot” clip, as well as go behind-the-scenes of the Hype Williams-directed visual, which was shot in Miami and features upstart lyricist Cory Gunz, who will be featured in the upcoming MTV docu-series “Son of a Gun.” Immediately following the premiere, Wayne will also sit down with MTV News’ Sway for his first live interview since he was released from prison last year.

Wayne fans will also have the opportunity to interact with Weezy by submitting questions either in advance or during the live event via MTV.com, Facebook or Twitter by adding the hashtag #askweezy.

Wayne supporters have been waiting for a spankin’ new visual from the I Am Not a Human Being lyricist ever since the MC finished his months-long 2010 prison stay in November. According to Weezy insiders, the forthcoming video is slated to make a memorable impression when it drops this week.

“I would love to tell everybody the concept but there will be people trying to get the idea and put it out before ’6 Foot 7 Foot’ drops,” Wayne’s videographer DJ Scoob Doo told MTV News. “But once people see the ’6 Foot 7 Foot,’ I guarantee that it’s going to be a game changer.”

      The Young Money captain’s

    2. MTV and CMR/Universal must have a deal to showcase their artists for tv specials? Drake and Nikki already had theirs. Gonna check it out.

    3. my questions are,

so who really wrote your lyrics before you decided to stop ryhming words and just use a retarded voice to make them sound similar?

      and

when did you first get buttfucked, before or while or after you went to jail?

      1. Lil Wayne and Young Money are not the reason for hip hop going dead…as you say. Lil Wayne has been putting out music “commercially” for over ten years and is STILL HERE. He got Drake, Corey Gunz, and Nicki Minaj on his roster. NOBODY DIDN’T EVEN WANT TO FUCK WITH THEM UNTIL THEY SIGNED WITH YOUNG MONEY. Even after Corey Gunz spit that sickening verse on the original version of “A Milli”, no one still didn’t sign him.

Are they putting out pure hip hop music???? No. We can agree on that. But, on the flip side….when NY rappers, purists started copying the South, after years of dissing the them, the whole rap game became weaker. Hip hop is not dead, but there’s little variety and competiveness. Everybody is boys (even if they don’t like each other). That’s not hip hop. I’m with rap beefs as long as they are non-violent, and not fucking with a person’s personal (family, life, money) business.

Hip hop, as an art may be suffering, but I think business-wise, it’s a level playing field. A artist (wack or hot) can TRULY control their own destiny and career. That’s really why the music business is lacking. You don’t need a record label to be successful….look at Souljah Boy.

      2. hahaha nobody cares about your opinion, you make an account here and post your thoughts and nobody in the world cares, how does that feel?

    4. who gives a fuck about MTV or lil wayne? they both stand for banality and shallow stupidity that repels room for growth and individuality. they abhor anything that resembles substance. fuck MTV and lil wayne and the entire mainstream music industry.

    5. people keep saying hip hop is dead no its not but i think the fans are. think about it the labels are giving the majority of the people what they want its about money that why you have rappers like solija boy and oj the juice man and so on. And rappers like joell ortiz or cory gunz or Blu can’t get all the shine they want. or they can’t get signed because their not make the music that will get the big executives money.

      1. Lol bad examples, Joel Ortiz just got signed by Eminem to shady records with the rest of slaughterhouse, and Cory Gunz is obviously signed to YM

    6. yo man that corey gunz dude is garbage!! he ruined the single with his fucking teenage cookie monster voice, and now he fucked up the the video cause he doesnt even know the right lyrics to lip sync for the video.

      1. Dude eminem is a billion times better than this piece of crap that leaked

        Eminem >>>>>>> Lil Wayne

Eminem had the already outsold carter 3 with recovery, so get lost dickrider

      2. Dude eminem killed the song “2.0 boys” so go listen to some real hip hop and get off lil wayne’s mainstream dick

Eminem is far more street than lil wayne

Lil wayne ain’t even from new orleans he from miami faggot

      3. Eminem can destroy lil wayne if there was a feud

Eminem is the best freestyler out there and lil wayne cant freestyle

Go listen to eminems and lil gaynes freestyle on tim westwood and watch lil gayne get destroyed a million times

      4. Haha.. It’s cool how all that dude had to say was “Eminem sucks” and everyone starts defending him like they know him or something.. This is supposed to be about the 6′ 7′ video.. That dude only wrote that because he knew people like you guys would get all pissed about it.. Relax..

    7. c4+d4=2011 best album n mixtape
      nino brown pt 4
i gotta question if gillie wrote tha carter 1 who wrote prefix n suffix n drought 1 or perfect example 10,000 bars… fuck gillie

      1. shit homie when did nino brown pt3 drop thats what im waitin on??

last one i brought was pt2 when he was doing no ceilings mixtape

      1. quit promoting your fav. rapper.. this has nothing to do with black thought. god damn backpackers….

    8. Haha tha homie doin his thang y’all! Cant wait to hear Tha Carter IV, he gon shit on all of the haters mayne. Mad props fo givin tha homie Cory Gunz a shot, he killed it!
Cash Money/Young Money runnin tha bizness!

      1. Mayne, I wanna apologize fo sayin that. I had no right fo sayin shit like that. No hard feelings, aight bro?

      2. Fuck weezy? Or you want to fuck weezy? cuz every time anything weezy come out you jump his dick Kenneth… I bet you looking at weezy’s dick on your phone in that pic too, huh Kenneth. Isn’t that right Kenneth…

    9. Weezy coming thru with that raw intelligence “Real G’s move in silence like lasagna”! Who else can do it better? NOBODY!

      BRRRR

      1. raw intelligence? please decipher that crap you just quoted, please do tell me the meaning, then i shall accept its intelligent. if its just rhymin for the sake of rhymin then fuck you

      2. Actually you do pronounce the G, Its What Gives it the “la-sagna, if u didnt say the g, it would be lasana , this line wasnt thought of that well

    10. Ok just because Lil Wayne is new and is from the south, real hip-hop heads should really stop dismissing his talent! Dude fucking kills it on the mic! His punch lines are just incredible theres a reason why a Legend like Eminem choose Lil Wayne to be on Recovery and thats because Slim Shady has respect for Lil Waynes skill…and who better to determine someones skill in rhyming than Slim Shady?

      1. you DO know that Wayne has been in the game, going Platinum, since 1997.

He’s literally been in the game as long as Jay-Z and longer, as a solo artist, than Lauryn Hill. Lil’ Wayne is old school (by you young cats’ definition, at least).

      2. new? he’s been around since the 90s, genius but back then nobody dubbed him as “the best rapper alive” cuz people employed a thing called common sense and talent was rewarded. he sucked back then and guess what? hasnt changed a bit.

    11. As much as I love Weezy, he was Lil’ Jon-type level of cartoonish in this video…Still a great song though.

And Cory Gunz, hot verse but damn man – you are UGLY!

    12. Video is dope as fuk.

    14. i really like this song, but this is probly the worst fuck’n hype willams video ever made.definitlly one of the dumbest videos i’ve seen in a while…

      1. Have you seen the All of the Lights video? Outside of Rihanna’s fine ass, that video is barely watchable.

    15. This is the funniest video I’ve ever seen in my life. I don’t think it’s to be taken seriously and it’s just a play on these “On To The Next One” type of videos surfacing nowadays.

      Lmaooo ohhh Weezy

    16. not sure how the video fit the song, at all. oh good job beatin a bunch a hoes in a race. you must feel spectacular. wtf?

      1. its because in the rap game he is racing a bunch of BITCHES to be the best, and well him ‘winning’ the race is just saying that he beat all these BITCHES to the top.

so, “I think you stand under me if you don’t understand me”

    17. its official hip hop has some of the most mentally challenge stans out there!..this sucks and reeks like ass i hate the beat i hate wayne and gunz maybe has flow but no lyricism whatsoever i want to shoot my self for watching this video i done fucked up wayne=just stick to sucking babys dick bitch!

    18. wow, Hype. Wow. I don’t expect Wayne to be an arbiter of cinematic vision, but I would at least hope Hype would have a little more ambition. Especially with such a dope track. So much could have been done with the “inception” thing (wayne’s dream inside of wayne’s dream inside of Gunz’s dream would have been CRAZY). Also, you can’t literally show Wayne’s metaphors (a plate of lasagna? really?!?) because they are too ridiculous.

      Goddamit what a bad video

    19. I think the video is pretty ill, glad the inception bit wasn’t overused, it could have been really awful. 6’7 beat wise is incredible, even lyrically it’s not too bad.

    20. FUCK YMCMB AS A STAFFF, RECORD LABEL AND AS A MUTHERFUCKIN’ CREW! IF YOU DOWN WITH THEM, THAN FUCK YOU TOO!!! LIL’ WAYNE, FUCK YOU TOO! BABY AND ALL THE OTHER BITCHES ON THAT ROSTER: FUCK YOU ALL! MY FO-FO MAKE SURE ALL YO KIDS DON’T GROW, WE GONNA RIDE ON YOU BITCHES!!! WAIT TILL I SEE YOU SUCKAZ IN HELL!!!!

      FUCK YOU ALL!!!

      T.H.U.G.L.I.F.E. 4 EVER,
