Lil Wayne Signs Stephanie Acevedo To Young Money

Amidst conflicts regarding his own record deal, Lil Wayne has signed a new artist to his Young Money imprint.

Earlier this week, Young Money made the announcement via its website that singer Stephanie Acevedo has joined the YM roster.

The news was accompanied with the official music video of Acevedo’s “Bleeding Love” cover.

Within the visual, which was shot by Vanessa Perez, Acevedo prances around the beach and frolics in the water while singing her rendition of the Leona Lewis song.

Instagram images of the songstress alongside Mack Maine and Lil Wayne – dating back to October 2014 – suggest she has been associated with the label for at least a few months.

Acevedo joins Chanel West Coast, Christina Milian, Shanell and Nicki Minaj in YM’s talented stable of female artists. Details regarding her contract with YM have not been revealed.

      1. exactly my thoughts. why you gonna sign someone when you’re in the midst of a legal battle to get off your label when that label owns a portion of your own label??? that pusha t line keeps coming to mind…..

    1. Sigh. These rappers got a bad habit of signing people just b/c of the way they look regardless of talent… I’m waiting for the next Mary J or Lauryn Hill. I could care less about this mexican chick.

    2. so people can get signed to a record label by covering tracks? wtf? this isnt even a remix.. she literally stole someone’s song and didnt do it as well as the original. SMH the game is a damn shame.. I gave her a chance.. she did not show me she was capable of anything special.. this bitch is gonna be on the shelf asap! she has no place in YM. YMCMB is a sinking ship that even Wayne wants out of.. so why would she go there?? she definitely gave that box up to at Wayne, Mack Maine, or Drake.. IF NOT ALL THREE. this VIDEO is terrible. she’s hot but thats where it ends.. her presence is not existent and she’s not a great singer.. but oh well.. we live in a time where u get signed to music labels for other reasons besides being able to create and perform GOOD, ORIGINAL TRACKS

    3. SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME, THAT THIS GIRL HAS NEVER WRITTEN A FUCKING SONG, PERFORMED A FUCKING SONG IN FRONT OF A LIVE AUDIENCE, HAS NO FUCKING MUSICAL BACKGROUND OR TALENT AND YOUNG MONEY FUCKING SIGNED HER? ARE YOU SERIOUS? IS THIS REAL LIFE OR IS THIS JUST A FUCKING JOKE OR LIFE TELLING YOU, “HEY IF YOU SUCK ENOUGH DICK AND SAY THANK YOU AFTER HE BLOWS ON YOUR FACE, YOU MIGHT GET A MAJOR RECORD DEAL”
