Billboard released the Top 10 artists with the most singles on its Hot 100 chart throughout the publication’s 57-year history as part of its Greatest of All Time series.
Lil Wayne, Drake and Jay Z all make the cut.
In 2012, Lil Wayne passed Elvis Presley for most songs to chart on the list. Weezy has had 127 songs on the chart to date. Since his accomplishment, the cast of Glee has overtaken the top spot with 207 songs. The 2008 song “Lollipop” reached the #1 spot and remained on the charts for 28 weeks.
Drake is the next rapper on the list. He earns the #4 spot with 100 songs that have charted. He reached this mark in September with “Hotline Bling” and cuts from his collaborative album with Future, What a Time to Be Alive.
Jay Z holds the #6 spot with 83 songs to have charted. The tracks “Crazy in Love” with Beyonce, “Empire State of Mind” with Alicia Keys, “Umbrella” with Rihanna and “Heartbreaker” with Mariah Carey all sat at the top of the charts for multiple weeks.

We know Ghostface and Nas are on record for help with bars. (Not to mention, Chuck D, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Roxanne Shante and ODB who have all had full songs written by others). Do we banish all these great MCs from hiphop cuz a few bars? These real hiphop heads been looking to discredit Drake from Day-one. Light skin Canadian is the reason. People get real. Anthony Palman been writing Drake’s rhymes for a minute. He was battle rapper in Toronto and his name is credited all over Drake’s first 3 albums. He was to TML, TC and NWTS, what Quentin Miller was to IYRTITL. You can continue to think he is great but there is no other great rapper/lyricist that has had that much help. He’ll go down as a great artist im sure but he ain’t a great rapper.

Drake is good he’s not great because he didn’t write that shit and neither is any other hip hop legend that just recited lyric written by another person. He can make motivational anthems (started from the bottom), ballads that can be played at weddings (hold on we’re going home), socially conscious songs (STRESS), stripper anthems (plastic bag), songs about family struggles (look what you’ve done), songs where he just goes in with bars and no hooks ( 5am in Toronto), songs where he goes in with just hooks and no bars (camera), love songs (from time), club bangers (trophies, big rings), …etc. He writes classics for other artists. Drake is versatile and brilliant, and he deserves all the accolades he receives, he’s a musical savant. Right now you are witnessing greatness. Savor it. Can’t wait for Views from the 6ix!!
