Lil Wayne Beats Elvis Presley’s Billboard Record

Lil Wayne has surpassed Elvis Presley’s long-standing record for most Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Counting his feature on Game’s “Celebration,” which bows this week at No. 82, Weezy breaks the record for most Hot 100 chart visits. The YMCMB leader has scored 109 entries on the chart, while Presley only nabbed 108 between 1958 and 2003. He scored 42 hits as a lead artist, and served as a featured acts on the 67 others.

The cast of the FOX show Glee is the only act with more Hot 100 hits than Lil Wayne with 204 songs to lodge on the chart since 2009. Other artists with comparable records include James Brown (91 songs), Ray Charles (74 songs) and Aretha Franklin (73 songs).

      1. lmfao… That’s cold but true. I figured the homo thug would have OD’d by now, but still I give him a couple more years and he’ll end up dead one way or another..

      2. You love Elvis to death? You don’t know shit about Elvis except for the fact he sold a whole bunch of records to racist white folks. Wayne is actually pretty entertaining. Live a little instead of being a fucking hermit crab.

      1. What about the thousand FREE songs that never charted since they were FREE. Be serious. No one cares about your opinion because it never makes sense.

    1. So… that’s nice. Got the most Hot 100 listings thanks to tons of features.

When is he gonna get on that #1 albums list by a solo artist?

    2. Funny thing is, Weezy doesn’t even have the highest-selling album by Cash Money Records…that’s the one that got him his FIRST Hot 100 entry.

      1. When did you ever want to live. Weren’t you supposed to kill yourself yesterday. How are all of you haters going to hate on something that is funny and entertaining? How it must suck to be you guys.

    3. ja Rule, the realest, the hottest nigga in the universe, with most number 1 hits… Lil Wayne can’t beat that shit yo

    4. Ja Rule beat Elvis back in 2003. Now lil wayne beat him, but lil wayne can never reach Ja Rule’s success in music. It’s just not possible.

    5. It’s pretty pathetic how most of you see this as a racial issue. Skin colour is the last thing i think of when it comes to music. It’s sad that a legitimate artist such as Elvis can be overcome by Lil Wayne. The guys a complete joke. Dont get me wrong, the carter I and II are great albums. I actually place the carter !! in my top 50 albums of all time. But still, this is what is has come too? Lil wayne who as of recently has started trashing his own tracks, beats a legendary artist such as elvis.

goodbye world, it was nice knowing ya.

    6. This means NOTHING in today’s day and age of music. What it DOES prove however is HOW MINDLESS the body of people are whom BUY this guy or his “affiliates” music or for that matter even LENDS AND EAR TO IT. Wayne is so fuckin’ ass cheeks its pointless to argue otherwise. YOU BLACK FOLKS WANT SOMETHING TO HANG THE HAT ON??? Thank MIKE for opening the door when he hit that NASTY MOONWALK in Motown over 17 years ago. This guy Wayne has NO business being mentioned with the likes of Elvis, Michael, Madonna, Jimmy Hendrix, Beatles, etc. The fuckin guy just picked up a skateboard and acts like its a new fad when brothers been doin that shit for years. Fuck outta here…..he’s a disgrace and the ONLY thing homie got that’s good, is his work ethic. With this fool its ALWAYS been QUANITY over QUALITY….sad day in music indeed. ONE YALL.

      1. “Thank MIKE for opening the door when he hit that NASTY MOONWALK in Motown over 17 years ago”

over 17 years ago? the fuck you talking about? back in the early to mid 90’s? MJ busted the moonwalk at the Motown 25 back in 1983! that was almost three decades ago!

      2. Don’t forget. You don’t shit about Elvis or Madonna. Don’t act like you’re all high and mighty. Your shit stinks worse than Wayne’s. You know that, but you forget like you don’t want to remember.

      1. It’s ONLY a race thing to you black folks you dumb ass……y’all STILL pull that card over 400 years later. Give it a rest homie, most of the whites y’all care about are over 50 or dont even care about this stuff. LET THE RACE THING GO FAM, YOU LOOK IGNORANT

    7. some people will laugh and shake their heads at lil wayne breaking this record, but one thing it does show is hip hops impact on the mainstream nowadays. no wonder game wants this nigga on all his singles. lol. im shaking my head in disbelief, but laughing at the same time.

    8. If U Went Platinum It Has Nothin’ To Do With Luck,
It Just Mean That Million People are Stupid as FUCK!

      – Immortal Technique

      1. Love that line from industrial revolution its so true nowadays just because its on the radio dont mean it great but just like UES said hiphop or hippop is mainstream music now every artist want somebody from rap on their record I gurantee most of lil waynes hits that helped him top elvis arent his is songs that features him just like glee make a bunch of remakes

    9. Difference is in the quality of music.

Elvis did very few collabs to achieve that. Wayne whored himself out for 2 years on everyone’s song.

Fair play though, still a good achievement.

      1. No one shows the game as much love as Wayne does. If he didn’t do all those songs, you guys would want more music from him. Don’t front.

    10. This is just stupid there is no comparison between the two of these artists talent. Lil wayne regurgitates the same shit over and over and most of his song have no meaing, hes just flowing. While every single one of elvis’ verses relate directly to the chorus in that song.(something that has been lost as of late)

      1. hey wtf you had nothing to say about the rest of my post because you know its true. you can take any of lil wayne’s lame ass verse and switch them around to any song. they never relate to the hook! fag!

    12. Congratulations to Lil Wayne. That is a phenomenal achievement considering Elvis had 45 years to accomplish that feat. It just goes to show what hard work, dedication and talent achieves. All the haters, bow down and kiss the ring. The king is dead, long live the king.

      1. Damn, he can be annoying at times. That doesn’t mean he’s talentless. He does say some entertaining ass shit. Who’s really the Wayne Stan. Don’t forget to mail your hate before driving off the bridge.

    13. damn all i see is hate yall and bigging up the dude that didnt like blacks and stole our fucking music smh when u hate do it for a reason and know the back ground of the artist elvis stole chuck berry shit Back to the future movie even let yall dumb fucks know who invented rock n roll

      1. Blondie?!? Don’t ever bring that up again. How are you hating on all that clowning ass word play that is obviously now directed at you. Be serious. The guy is entertaining. You’re not. Who’s really lame?

    14. Never understood all the hate Lil Wayne gets. I’m not a fan of his either but damn all this hate just helps dude get some attention

    15. Yeah but thats only because dude is on so many features. Also Elvis really had 31 songs that charted before they started using hot 100. So it is really more like 139 charts he had on he top 100(as a lead artist). Also I don’t mind being considered a hater for this guy. He might say some dope stuff here and there, but he really doesn’t talk about anything most the time. This feat is nothing compared to how Jay-z topped Elvis with number 1 albums. Or whatever records Eminem had broken that were set by Elvis. He’s featured on every other song. Even more then Rick Ross or Drake. So of course at some point this was going to happen.

    16. when he said he is the best there is no lie about it weezy you are and remain the best of the best love you and you work

    17. A sad day for music. Elvis is the king of rock. What is Lil Wayne? A guy known for being one of the driving forces that RUINED a genre. Since when did mumbling on a beat make you a good rapper…

      1. people said the same shit when elvis was big, people forget after a few years that every big artist is hated by a big majority of people…….. they hated Jesus, and they hated tupac when they were alive…… people just hate.

    18. cant believe a guy who wears skin tight cheetah pants and who raps about stupid shit accomplished this. what has this world come to? thanks a lot current generation

    19. I guess he should be passing Elvis. Dude literally hores himself out to everybody to be featured on a song. Elvis would have never colloborated on the bullshit Weezy has associated himself with. Between his fake blood shit, fake persona, progressively worse music (D4 is horrible) and that dumb ass deposition tape I can hardly consider listening to anthing this dude says at all let alone music.

    20. Yeah but how many of the Elvis charted songs were another artist’s song featuring Elvis. Probably only a few, if any. The fact that Lil Wayne hops on so many songs makes this misleading. Still though, good job.

    21. Lil Wayne IS the Best Rapper Alive. Now before you hating fucks start bashing me let me explain. Wayne himself has said that he is NOT better than anybody else but he is the BEST at what he does. So all you fuck faces getting mad when they call him the BEST RAPPER ALIVE dont get your panties in a bunch. and he Weezy is still KIGN of HIP HOP !

      YMCMB!

      1. How much does Wayne pay you to suck his dick? Oh, wait. HE DOESN’T KNOW YOU NOR DOES HE CARE ABOUT YOU!! You’re a dickriding stan. Kill yourself, fag.

    22. lil wayne, since his inception has stayed true to the format, the guy is hip hop inside out, he knows the culture, has ties to legends (whom have vouched for him) he single-handedly created this mixtape shit, and did in 3 years what it took some of the greats to do in 10. FALL THE FUCK BACK, if you don’t like duke why even bother? While you BLOG and keyboard slam your FUCKERY he’s caked up, doing his thing, giving us consistent hip hop. wayne’s the man and I’ve never been ashamed to say I’ve followed him and been an avid fan since 2001′. I mean, read his books, look beyond the music the guy is the realist of the real, he’s ACTUALLY lived what he writes unlike 99.9% of these clowns. You guys need to pipe it down a tad, and take that evil out your veins, LISTEN to his music and embrace this man. PERIOD.

      1. Kill yourself, dickrider, for saying that bullshit. Wayne is a sellout fake pop star who never cares about hip-hop, but loves money.

    23. u fools need to stop blogging here, get outta yo house and go grab a copy of my classic album that has ALREADY sold 3mil!!

    25. Well isn’t this all just a bunch of bullshit. Fuck you hiphopdx.com, you’re a fucking cunt, an even bigger cunt than little wayne. Fuck you if you think this mama drama news is worth listing and fuck hip hop if this is what turns you on. Suck my 2 and a half inch white caucasion cock, sounds funny to say so do it; it aint funny suckin that little dick bitch.

    26. lol @ all you hip hop purists becoming fake ass elvis fans all of a sudden just to spite wayne. same way you became pusha t fans when his diss dropped now he’s back to getting 10 comments. How many elvis yall got? can yall even name an elvis album? smh

      1. Shut up, Wayne stan. Nobody said they were a fan of Elvis. They’re just stating facts. Why are you defending a dude whose music is trash.

    27. At least Elvis was a real musician and real although he bored from black artists but lil wayne is just a wack faggot.

    28. Elvis was a REAL musician, not only are Waynes’ appearances on the list mostly as a guest artist, but they are all shit!

In 20 years time Elvis will still be a legend, in 20 years time Wayne will be nobody.

      1. but, lil wayne will still be a millionaire, who made sure his family never saw a broke day. can your mom and dad say the same?

    29. 42 songs in the top 100 is still big. there are some artists who only get that spot once in their career. haters are always going to find a way to hate.

    30. The haters on here are a buncha pussys and nerds that wouldnt DARE talk shit to Wayne in person. I know yall gona be like “He’s 5’4 aint nobody scared of him”. Nigga height dont matter a real blood nigga like him will easily have a pussy nigga like yall shook quick like nesquik! Weezy is KIGN of HIP HOP! and this article PROVES it!

      YMCMB!

    31. “What due? Dude’s been trash since 2009”

He could put out an album of just him coughing and it would probably go 2x platinum. You think it’s so easy to do what Wayne is doing? If so, try it.

      1. I like how the Wayne stans say “if you think what he does is easy, then you try it.” That’s how you know they ran out of logical things to say. Besides, Wayne sells because he’s a crappy pop artist.

    32. “Is that a challenge?”

Yes it is. Go make an album, release it, and we’ll see if it outsells any of Wayne’s albums.

    33. Like it or not, inevitably in 50 years people are going to talk about him now and again as a legend, regardless if you like his music or not.

    34. lil wayne, since his inception has stayed true to the format, the guy is hip hop inside out, he knows the culture, has ties to legends (whom have vouched for him) he single-handedly created this mixtape shit, and did in 3 years what it took some of the greats to do in 10. FALL THE FUCK BACK, if you don’t like duke why even bother? You guys need to pipe it down a tad, and take that evil out your veins, LISTEN to his music and embrace this man. PERIOD.

      1. Are you retarded? This guy brags in his songs hes been shot and forgetting to mention he shot him self in the leg lol he talks about Bloods but has been out the streets since Bow Wows age. The cunt’s abit taller than mini me and he’s a gangster. The only scary thing about him is he looks like a gremlin 😀

    35. It seems like these lil wayne dick riding fans has has yet to realize that micheal jackson beated elvis’s record years ago so this is really isn’t something to brang about.

    36. Why do people click on this link just to hate if you really hated him you wouldn’t evn of clicked on it hahaha
You guys blow…….. Your head off then I hope the devil fucks you esophagus.

    37. Most replies here are based on young people with the brain of a puber in full growth. You can’t compare this “singer?” with a true master in every style. Elvis he is another catagory a league of his own, there is nobody in this present time that could fill his shoes, dont forget in 1977, when he passed away, there was no internet..the world was a smaller place yet he has set world records regardless of all these things, even today 600.000 people visit graceland annually

    38. and why the lot of you are using such faul language is beyond my understanding or is that the kind of music he is reflecting towards his fans??? well in that case..monkey see monkey do.

    39. with all respect but mayority of replies here are from african americans, that uses the world americans at the end for social benefits..the world is coming to an end if you walk through the Streets of nyc you will see the minorities but at least they build up the economy..
