Lil Uzi Vert has responded to critics of his androgynous new alter ego, Leslie, which he introduced to the world while touring Thailand earlier this week.

It appears that Uzi is a fan of the Hangover trilogy as the Philadelphia rapper channeled the character of Leslie Chow, played by Ken Jeong, while defending their new look.

ā€œChow understand people always donā€™t like ways of Chow,ā€ Uzi wrote on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday night (April 19). ā€œBut Chow donā€™t give af Chow rich and never look back ā€¦.. Suck my monkey tail LESLIE OUT.ā€

Uzi fed into the Leslie Chow comparisons earlier this week by posting a clip of him channeling the characterā€™s mannerisms while out in Thailand.

ā€œToodeloo, muthafuckas! Itā€™s Chow,ā€ the ā€œJust Wanna Rockā€ hitmaker said while walking in a robe and smoking on what looks to be a cigarette.

Lil Uzi Vert unveiled their new alter ego on Instagram on Sunday (April 16) while performing at Thailandā€™s inaugural Rolling Loud festival.

He posted a series of photos showing off Leslieā€™s emo-inspired hairstyle and outfit, which quickly divided fans and elicited plenty of polarizing reactions.

ā€œN-gga looking like somebody emo auntie,ā€ one fan wrote, while another joked: ā€œUzi looking like he just joined panic at the disco.ā€

ā€œI thought that was someoneā€™s grandmother,ā€ another commenter quipped.

Not everyone was turned off by Uziā€™s new look, though. ā€œStop telling folks to be normal.. normal is Boring if this is his personality let it be,ā€ one fan wrote in defense of his individuality.

Pennsylvania rapper Eem Triplin, meanwhile, hailed Uzi as ā€œnot humanā€ while using a goat emoji to crown him as the greatest of all time.

Nicki Minaj even poked fun at Leslie by posting a side-by-side photo of Uziā€™s emo look and her outfit from the music video to Young Moneyā€™s 2009 hit ā€œBedrock.ā€

ā€œShe said I can make your bedrock,ā€ Minaj captioned the post.
